Cerebral vasodilation in hypoxia may involve endothelium-derived relaxing factor-nitric oxide. Methylene blue (MB), an in vitro inhibitor of soluble guanylate cyclase, was injected intravenously into six adult ewes instrumented chronically with left ventricular, aortic, and sagittal sinus catheters.
