Red and blue shifted hydridic bonds

Journal of Computational Chemistry, 2014
By performing MP2/aug‐cc‐pVTZab initiocalculations for a large set of dimer systems possessing a RH hydridic bond involved in diverse types of intermolecular interactions (dihydrogen bonds, hydride halogen bonds, hydride hydrogen bonds, and charge‐assisted hydride hydrogen bonds), we show that this is rather an elongation than a shortening that a ...

Blue shift paradox in selective reflection

AIP Conference Proceedings, 1995
Blue shift of selective reflection line predicted theoretically has never been seen in the experiments. To solve this paradox we study the origin of this blue shift in more detail.

Spectral blue shift of thermal radiators

SPIE Proceedings, 1998
The traditional concept of graybody in IR application is investigated and new viewpoints are proposed. It is found that the spectral distribution of thermal radiation of a real body with emissivity (epsilon) < 1, compared with that of absolute blackbody, will shift to shortwave region, i.e. the blue shift phenomena will appear.

Red versus blue shifts in trimethylammoiumhexafluorosilicate

Chemical Physics Letters, 2004
Abstract Hartree–Fock and density functional methods have been used to obtain the molecular structure, electron density topography and the vibrational frequencies of trimethylammoiumhexafluorosilicate (TMAHFS). In the isolated molecule the N–H⋯F bond is predicted to be nonlinear with a deviation of 16° from linearity and the SiF 6 2− orients with a

Neutral Blue-Shifting and Blue-Shifted Hydrogen Bonds

2006
This is a critical review that, first, covers the most important results in the area of blue-shifting hydrogen bonds including their update list containing more than 80 blue-shifting hydrogen-bonded complexes and, second, attempts to classify them on the equal footing with the classical hydrogen bonds and to partly re-examine their origin by means of ...

Blue-shift photoluminescence from porous InAlAs

Semiconductor Science and Technology, 2010
A porous InAlAs structure was first obtained by electrochemical etching. Nano-pore arrays were formed when the In0.52Al0.48As membrane was anodized at constant voltages in an HF aqueous solution. These self-assembled structures showed evident blue-shift photoluminescence emissions.

Engineering a Functional Blue-Wavelength-Shifted Rhodopsin Mutant

Biochemistry, 2001
We report an effort to engineer a functional, maximally blue-wavelength-shifted version of rhodopsin. Toward this goal, we first constructed and assayed a number of previously described mutations in the retinal binding pocket of rhodopsin, G90S, E122D, A292S, and A295S.

Absorption Blue Shift in Laser-Excited Semiconductor Microspheres

Physical Review Letters, 1986
The energy of an electron-hole pair in laser-excited semiconductor microcrystallites is computed with plasma screening and dielectric polarization taken into account. A strong excitation-induced blue shift of the absorption is predicted which causes a large optical nonlinearity for crystallite sizes exceeding the bulk-exciton Bohr radius.

On the Difference of the Properties between the Blue-Shifting Halogen Bond and the Blue-Shifting Hydrogen Bond

The Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2010
The difference of the properties between the blue-shifting halogen bond and the blue-shifitng hydrogen bond has been investigated at the M06/6-311++G(d,p) theory level. It was found that the three lone electron pairs on the halogen atom play an important role for the difference of the properties between the blue-shifting halogen bond and the blue ...

Activation parameters of the blue shift (Shibata shift) subsequent to protochlorophyllide phototransformation

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Proteins and Proteomics, 2003
The Shibata shift was analyzed in flash irradiated wheat (Triticum aestivum, L., cult. MV17) leaf homogenates in the pressure range of 0.1 to 500 MPa, at temperatures of 20, 30 and 40 degrees C. The kinetics of the blue shift (called Shibata shift in case of intact leaves) was followed by repeated recording of fluorescence emission spectra after ...
