A 3‐year‐old male Border Collie diagnosed with immune‐mediated dermatopathy, managed with tapering prednisolone and cyclosporine, developed rapidly progressive ocular signs and additional cutaneous lesions. Histopathology, mycological culture, polymerase chain reaction and sequencing confirmed intraocular and cutaneous infection due to Curvularia ...

Hamiltonella defensa infection increases honeydew production in certain aphid genotypes, potentially modifying aphid feeding behaviour. Parasitoid wasps, Aphidius ervi, are more attracted to honeydew from H. defensa‐infected aphids; though larger honeydew amounts may slightly deter searching.

Rescue of pATOM36‐depleted T. brucei by human MTCH1/2 reveals common features of protein insertases
Human MTCH1 and MTCH2 (with an N‐terminal extension) functionally complement the loss of pATOM36 in T. brucei, indicating that these evolutionarily distant proteins recognize a common set of substrates and share fundamental principles of mitochondrial outer membrane protein insertion. Structural analyses reveal a common hydrophilic cavity, supporting a

Pityokteines spinidens commonly occurs in Europe where it infests Silver fir and occasionally other conifers. Together with the two additional Pityokteines species (P. curvidens and P. vorontzowi) it has been reported as an important factor in Silver fir decline in some parts of Europe.

ICSH Guidance on Bone Marrow Examination and Reporting
ABSTRACT Examination of the bone marrow (BM) remains fundamental to the diagnosis, classification, prognostication, and monitoring of hematolymphoid and other disorders affecting blood cell production. Since publication of the International Council for Standardization in Haematology (ICSH) guideline in 2008, advances in diagnostic technologies, disease

ABSTRACT Acute hepatopancreatic necrosis disease (AHPND) is caused by a plasmid bearing strain of Vibrio parahaemolyticus (VpAHPND), which produces PirA and PirB toxins that specifically target and damage hepatopancreatic and epithelial cells of the shrimp gastrointestinal tract.

Auxin response and PIN‐mediated transport in chlorophyte algae
Like multicellular plants, green algae respond to auxin and move it across their cells. However, their PIN‐like proteins do not act like plant auxin exporters, suggesting that basic auxin transport evolved early and specialized directional transport appeared later in plant evolution.

In wheat, phosphorylation of the S‐like RNase TaRNS4 mediated by the kinase TaRLK5 promotes its degradation of Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici RNA in the apoplast, enhancing resistance to stripe rust. TaRNS4 can hijack phosphatase TaPP2C10 to relieve its dephosphorylation of TaMAPK6, thereby activating MAPK‐mediated immune responses. ABSTRACT RNase

Abstract The genus Merismopedia (Merismopediaceae, Chroococcales), characterized by rectangular colonies with cells arranged in regular perpendicular rows and columns, represents a challenging study system due to its limited cultivability. The genus recently underwent taxonomic revision using cultivation‐independent techniques and a polyphasic approach.

Objectives Malassezia dysbiosis commonly occurs after successful piperacillin‐tazobactam monotherapy for canine bacterial otitis externa. The study objective was to compare antimicrobial outcomes in dogs with otitis treated with piperacillin‐tazobactam in combination with the antifungal drug clotrimazole with a previous cohort treated with piperacillin‐
