Microbial growths and checking on acrylic painted tropical woods and their static bending after three years of natural weathering

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2019
Wood products exposed outdoor could be weathered, especially in the tropical region with high in sun light, temperature, rain intensity, and relative humidity.

Bridging the Gap Between Human Toxicology and Ecotoxicology Under One Health Perspective by a Cross‐Species Adverse Outcome Pathway Network for Reproductive Toxicity

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology and Chemistry, EarlyView.
Cross‐species extrapolation of adverse outcome pathway network on reproductive toxicity under the One Health perspective using new approach methodologies. AOP = adverse outcome pathway. Abstract Although ecotoxicological and toxicological risk assessments are performed separately from each other, recent efforts have been made in both disciplines to ...

Phenotypic Analysis of Arabidopsis Mutants: Trypan Blue Stain for Fungi, Oomycetes, and Dead Plant Cells [PDF]

open access: yesCold Spring Harbor Protocols, 2008
INTRODUCTIONTrypan blue stains vasculature, dead plant cells, and fungal and oomycete hyphae. It is useful for assessing the extent of colonization of tissue, and for detecting microlesions present in certain lesion-mimic mutants. Trypan blue staining requires chloral hydrate for destaining, which is inconvenient, because it is a controlled substance ...

Acupuncture Alleviates Allergic Rhinitis by Activating the AMPK/PGC‐1α Pathway to Attenuate Mitochondrial Oxidative Stress and Restore Epithelial Barrier Function

open access: yesFlavour and Fragrance Journal, EarlyView.
Acupuncture at Feishu (BL13), Shenshu (BL23), Yingxiang (LI20), and Dazhui (GV14) alleviates allergic rhinitis by activating the AMPK/PGC‐1α/NRF1/TFAM signalling axis. This activation improves mitochondrial biogenesis and function, reduces mtROS‐mediated oxidative stress, restores ATP production and respiratory complex I/IV activity, suppresses IgE and

Lecythophorin, a potent inhibitor of blue-stain fungi, from the hyphomycetous fungus Lecythophora hoffmannii

open access: yesTetrahedron Letters, 1995
Abstract A novel chaetiacandin sulfate, lecythophorin ( 1 ), has been isolated from the hyphomycetous fungus Lecythophora hoffmannii . The structure was determined by a combination of chemical and spectroscopic methods. This sulfate is strongly antagonistic to the aspen staining fungus Ophiostoma crassivaginatum .

Purification of crude cellulase obtained from Aspergillus foetidus and its immobilization in agar xerogel: A comparative study with commercial cellulase immobilized in similar support

open access: yesFood Biomacromolecules, EarlyView.
Agar xerogel was used to immobilize cellulase. Properties of partially purified cellulase from Aspergillus foetidus and commercial cellulase were compared after immobilization. Abstract This research study is a comparative study of the characteristics of partially purified cellulase produced from Aspergillus foetidus through solid‐state fermentation ...

Infection mechanisms of Rhizoctonia cerealis in wheat

open access: yesiMeta, EarlyView.
We discover that R. cerealis (Rc) is a primary pathogen causing sharp eyespot of wheat after 335 distinct isolates were isolated from 1683 SE‐diseased wheat plants across China over 7 years using a single hyphal tip isolation method. We then generated high‐quality reference genomes via de novo sequencing of five representative Rc isolates and ...

Influence of Artificial and Natural Weathering on the Moisture Dynamic of Wood

open access: yesBioResources, 2016
Wood that is used in outdoor applications is frequently exposed to weathering and is thus prone to fungal degradation. Ways to prevent fungal degradation include keeping the wood dry.

Decoding ferroptosis via integrated multi‐omics analyses in rice blast

open access: yesiMeta, EarlyView.
The rice‐Magnaporthe oryzae pathosystem is presented as a host‐pathogen ferroptosis model. Multi‐omics insights connect ferroptosis to several cellular processes, such as iron homeostasis, reactive oxygen species (ROS)/redox imbalance, and polyunsaturated fatty acid‐containing phospholipid (PUFA‐PL) peroxidation, under multiple regulators in rice and M.
