Fiscal Forecasting Rationality Among Expert Forecasters

open access: yesJournal of Forecasting, Volume 44, Issue 3, Page 941-959, April 2025.
ABSTRACT Macroeconomic theories attribute rigidities in expectations formation to two mechanisms: sticky or noisy information. Recent advances in testing time variations in forecast dispersion—using the fluctuation rationality test—allow detecting departures from forecaster rationality over time.

Controls From Above and Below: Snow, Soil, and Steepness Drive Diverging Trends of Subsurface Water and Streamflow Dynamics

open access: yesHydrological Processes, Volume 39, Issue 4, April 2025.
A conceptual model of streamflow generation dynamics across varying climate and landscape conditions. Flat, rainy sites (right) often have more silty/clay textured soils. These sites exhibit flashier streamflow and streamflow is more sensitive to changes in dynamic water storage (Stot) over the water year (WY).

Kingdom or fandom? YouTube and the changing role of gatekeeping in digital cultural markets

open access: yesStrategic Management Journal, Volume 46, Issue 4, Page 929-961, April 2025.
Abstract Research Summary How should novelty‐driven entrepreneurs best position themselves in digital cultural markets? On platforms like YouTube, cultural entrepreneurs may bypass classic gatekeepers to reach novelty‐seeking audiences through algorithms that search and recommend.

In Situ Calculation of Spaceflight Magnetometer Coupling Coefficients for Interference Removal Using the Reduction Algorithm for Magnetometer Electromagnetic Noise (RAMEN)

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, Volume 12, Issue 4, April 2025.
Abstract Space‐based in situ magnetic field measurements are often limited by spacecraft‐generated interference, known as stray magnetic fields. These fields, generated by currents from spacecraft subsystems, are frequently several times stronger than the ambient magnetic field signals of interest.

Analysis of Satellite and In Situ Optical Proxies for PIC and POC During GEOTRACES GP15 and GP17‐OCE Transects From the Subarctic North Pacific to the Southern Ocean

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, Volume 12, Issue 4, April 2025.
Abstract The biological pump, a fundamental process governing atmospheric CO2, rapidly transfers particulate inorganic and organic carbon (PIC and POC) from surface waters to the deep sea but is inherently highly variable in space and time, and thus poorly observed.
