A Kinematic View of NGC 1261: Structural Parameters, Internal Dispersion, Absolute Proper Motion, and Blue Straggler Stars [PDF]
We constructed a Hubble Space Telescope (HST) astrophotometric catalog of the central region of the Galactic globular cluster NGC 1261. This catalog, complemented with Gaia DR2 data sampling the external regions, has been used to estimate the structural ...

M67 Blue Stragglers with High-resolution Infrared Spectroscopy
We report on the first detailed infrared chemical analysis of five binary members (S277, S997, S975, S1031, and S1195) in the open cluster M67 (NGC 2682).

Blue straggler populations of seven open clusters with Gaia DR2 [PDF]
Blue straggler stars (BSS) are well studied in globular clusters but their systematic study with secure membership determination is lacking in open clusters.

Building Blue Stragglers with Stellar Collisions [PDF]
AbstractThe evolution of stellar collision products in cluster simulations has usually been modelled using simplified prescriptions. Such prescriptions either replace the collision product with an (evolved) main sequence star, or assume that the collision product was completely mixed during the collision. It is known from hydrodynamical simulations of ...

We present the first far-UV (FUV) imaging results of the intermediate-age Galactic open cluster NGC 2818 that has a planetary nebula (PN) within the field using images taken from the Ultra Violet Imaging Telescope (UVIT) aboard AstroSat.

On the Origin of the Split Main Sequences of the Young Massive Cluster NGC 1856
The detection of split main sequences (MSs) associated with young clusters (≲600 Myr) has attracted a lot of attention. A prevailing scenario is that a bimodality of stellar rotation distribution drives the bifurcation of the MS. Nevertheless, the origin

J01020100-7122208: an accreted evolved blue straggler that wasn't ejected from a supermassive black hole [PDF]
J01020100-7122208 is a star whose origin and nature still challenges us. It was first believed to be a yellow super giant ejected from the Small Magellanic Cloud, but it was more recently claimed to be a red giant accelerated by the Milky Way's central ...

SPINNING LIKE A BLUE STRAGGLER: THE POPULATION OF FAST ROTATING BLUE STRAGGLER STARS IN ω CENTAURI [PDF]
By using high-resolution spectra acquired with FLAMES-GIRAFFE at the ESO/VLT, we measured radial and rotational velocities for 110 Blue Straggler stars (BSSs) in Omega Centauri, the globular cluster-like stellar system harboring the largest known BSS population. According to their radial velocities, 109 BSSs are members of the system.

A Wide Metallicity Range for Gyr-old Stars in the Nuclear Star Cluster
We report metallicities for three ∼Gyr-old stars in the Milky Way nuclear star cluster (NSC) using high-resolution near-infrared spectroscopy. We derive effective temperatures from a calibration with Sc line strength, which yields results in good ...
