Enhancing Signal Purity in Josephson Structure Measurements

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
A low‐noise signal measurement system for dilution refrigerators is presented, combining multistage cryogenic filtering and electromagnetic shielding to suppress broad‐spectrum noise. The setup enables sub‐nanoampere switching current measurements in Josephson junctions, surpassing commercial systems.

Growth and Characterization of a CoTPP/NiO(001) Antiferromagnetic Spinterface

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
Co tetraphenyl porphyrins self‐assembled monolayer on NiO form an antiferromagnetic spiterface, in which the paramagnetic molecules inherit a long‐range magnetic ordering from the interaction with the antiferromagnetic oxide. These kind of system combines the versatility of molecules with the potential of antiferromagnets for high‐speed and high ...

A proper motion study of the globular cluster M55

open access: yes, 2011
We have derived the absolute proper motion (PM) of the globular cluster M55 using a large set of CCD images collected with the du Pont telescope between 1997 and 2008. We find (PM_RA*cos(DEC), PM_DEC) = (-3.31 +/- 0.10, -9.14 +/- 0.15) mas/yr relative to

Variability of jaw muscles in Tunisian street dogs and adaptation to skull shape

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The impact of artificial selection on the masticatory apparatus of dogs has been poorly studied, and comparative data with dogs subjected to more natural constraints are lacking. This study explores the jaw musculature of Tunisian street dogs, which are largely free from the influence of breed‐specific selection.

Mergers of close primordial binaries

open access: yes, 2005
We study the production of main sequence mergers of tidally-synchronized primordial short-period binaries. The principal ingredients of our calculation are the angular momentum loss rates inferred from the spindown of open cluster stars and the ...

Blue straggler populations beyond the Milky Way

open access: yesCommunications of the Byurakan Astrophysical Observatory, 2018
Although the formation of blue straggler stars (BSSs) is routinely attributed to stellar interactions in binary systems, the relative importance of the direct collision and slow(er) stellar coalescence formation channels is still poorly understood. We selected a sample of 24 Magellanic Cloud star clusters for which multi-passband Hubble Space Telescope

Continuous purification of a parvovirus using two aqueous two‐phase extraction steps

open access: yesBiotechnology Progress, EarlyView.
Abstract Aqueous two‐phase systems (ATPS) are a liquid–liquid extraction method that offers low‐cost, continuous‐adaptable virus purification. A two‐step ATPS using polyethylene glycol (PEG) and sodium citrate that recovered 66% of infectious porcine parvovirus with 2.0 logs of protein removal and 1.0 logs of DNA removal in batch has now been run ...
