Aging and Color Vision: A Model Using the Farnsworth‐MUNSELL 100‐Hue Test
ABSTRACT Introduction This study examined the theoretical changes in the FM100 Hue scores induced by age‐related changes in the ocular media transmittance. These changes were analyzed with and without a von Kries‐type chromatic adaptation to determine the role of this adaptation process on age‐related changes in hue discrimination.

Abstract Alpine areas such as the headwaters of California's Sierra Nevada are increasingly imperiled by climate change and other human‐induced stressors. For one, the introduction of non‐native fishes into over 60% of its historically fishless watersheds has profoundly restructured the aquatic food web, depressed the abundance, biomass, and diversity ...

Abstract Background As advanced treatment plans increasingly include optimizing both dose and linear energy transfer (LET), there is a growing demand for tools to measure LET in clinical settings. Although various detection systems have been investigated in this pursuit, the scarcity of detectors capable of providing per‐ion data for a fast and ...

Patterns and drivers of range filling of alien mammals in Europe
Biological invasions are major drivers of biodiversity change. Alien mammals are particularly concerning in Europe, where their expansion remains unabated, though the driving factors are still unclear. Well‐documented introductions and distributions in this continent provide a unique opportunity to understand how human activities influenced this ...

ROV Teleoperation in the Presence of Cross‐Currents Using Soft Haptics
ABSTRACT The remote operation of underwater vehicles at depth is complicated by the presence of invisible and unpredictable environmental disturbances such as cross‐currents. Communicating the presence of these disturbances to an operator on the surface is made more difficult by the nature of the disturbances and the lack of visible features to ...

Abstract CONSTANS, CONSTANS‐LIKE, TIMING OF CAB EXPRESSION1 (CCT) motif genes play a key role in barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) development and flowering, yet their genetic diversity remains underexplored. Leveraging a barley pangenome (76 genotypes) and pan‐transcriptome (subset of 20 genotypes), we examined CCT gene variation and evolutionary dynamics ...

This study describes suspected feline calicivirus (FCV) infections occurring after elective ovariohysterectomy in cats at a veterinary hospital in Turkey. Clinical signs, diagnostic approach and response to treatment were evaluated, highlighting the importance of early detection, supportive care and strict infection control to prevent nosocomial ...

Gamma‐ray spectra and absorbed doses measured at EuXFEL undulator system
The origin and composition of the stray radiation at the EuXFEL undulator system are investigated. This is essential for machine protection, as the stray radiation can damage the undulator permanent magnets as well as the correction and diagnostic equipment along the beamline.Characterization of the stray radiation field present in the undulator ...

In the current era of large‐scale biodiversity monitoring, our study highlights the risks posed by missing data and the importance of cautious imputation when interpreting biodiversity trends. We show that, in many cases, retaining gaps may lead to more accurate trend estimates than applying imputation.
