Diameter Dependence of Light Absorption in GaAs Nanowires Evidenced by Photoluminescence Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Photoluminescence spectroscopy is introduced as a qualitative method to probe light absorption in highly phase‐pure GaAs nanowire arrays and single nanowires, for which direct absorption measurements are challenging. Using defect‐line saturation and the exciton‐to‐plasma transition as indicators for the density of photogenerated charge carriers, a ...

The interfacial features in photoluminescence of In0.52Al0.48As/InP distinguished with selective excitation

open access: yesAIP Advances
The photoluminescence experiment was performed at 77 K on two types of heterostructures of In0.52Al0.48As/InP grown by molecular beam epitaxy. One type has the so-called direct interface formed with In0.52Al0.48As grown on the InP (100) substrate, and ...

Probing Ultrafast Coherent Bandgap Modulation in Monolayer WSe2 by Nonlinear Optics

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
This work sheds light on how resonant nonlinear optics blursthe line between perturbative and non‐perturbative nonlinear optics. Measured deviationsfrom the quadratic second‐harmonic scaling near the excitonic resonance arisefrom optical Stark and Bloch‐Siegert shifts. The experimental results arefurther underpinned by analytical and numerical analysis

Structural Colors from Ultrathin Lignin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Thickness‐dependent structural colors in ultrathin lignin films generate a full visible palette, tuned simply by solution concentration and spin speed. Abstract Structural colors offer a sustainable alternative to toxic pigments and dyes, yet their realization from lignin, the most abundant aromatic biopolymer, has remained elusive.

The Death of Vulcan: NEID Reveals That the Planet Candidate Orbiting HD 26965 Is Stellar Activity

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
We revisit the long-studied radial velocity (RV) target HD 26965 using recent observations from the NASA-NSF “NEID” precision Doppler facility. Leveraging a suite of classical activity indicators, combined with line-by-line RV analyses, we demonstrate ...

Circularly Polarized Structural Color Pigments Tunable Across the Full Visible Spectrum

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
By infusing black dye into spherical shells of polymerized cholesteric liquid crystal, blue, green and red omnidirectional retroreflectors of circularly polarized structural color are achieved. They can be laid out on arbitrary surfaces without any need for index matching binder to define graphical information for robots and Augmented Reality devices ...

Enhancement of the Ultraviolet Stability of Perovskite Solar by the Interface Modified with Cesium Chloride

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
CsCl interface modification promotes perovskite growth and suppresses recombination, boosting n–i–p perovskite solar cells (PSC) efficiency from 21.21% to 23.73% and enhancing UV stability fourfold, offering a simple route to efficient, stable PSCs. Stability is an important factor affecting the application of perovskite solar cells (PSCs).
