A Dynamic Change of Microglial States Occurs During the Transition From Photoreceptor Degeneration to Regeneration in Zebrafish pde6c Mutants

open access: yesGlia, Volume 74, Issue 6, June 2026.
Zebrafish pde6c mutants undergo photoreceptor degeneration from 5 dpf, but rods regenerate from 4 wpf. scRNA‐seq of retinal microglia reveals dynamic change of states between 5 dpf and 4 wpf. Two states emerge specifically during regeneration. ABSTRACT Microglia, brain‐resident immune cells, maintain brain homeostasis.

Convection‐Permitting Regional Climate Simulations Reveal Stronger Drying and Snow Loss in Semi‐Arid Mountainous Basins of Morocco

open access: yesHydrological Processes, Volume 40, Issue 6, June 2026.
Convection‐permitting simulations (WRF3, 3 km) better represent mountain precipitation and snow processes than coarser regional simulations (WRF20, 20 km). Hydrological simulations forced by WRF3 improve streamflow seasonality and snow‐related hydrological signatures compared to WRF20.

Henry Trimen: Under‐appreciated pioneer in the typification of Linnaean plant names?

open access: yesTAXON, Volume 75, Issue 3, June 2026.
Abstract In 1887, Henry Trimen published a paper summarising the contents of the Hermann Herbarium, in what is now the Natural History Museum, London (BM), in terms of the plant names published by Linnaeus. Trimen referred to the Hermann specimens as types of Linnaeus's names.

Edaphic isolation as a driver of divergence in a new Amazonian species of Diclinanona (Annonaceae)

open access: yesTAXON, Volume 75, Issue 3, June 2026.
Abstract For many years a mysterious collection made during an expedition to Venezuelan Amazonia in 1992 was in a folder at the former Utrecht Herbarium as “unidentified Annonaceae”. Several different genera were suggested for identification but since flowers were lacking it was unclear where this taxon should be placed. One of the suggestions based on

Three‐Dimensional Characterization of Lateral Subsurface Flow in an Alpine Forested Hillslope on the Tibetan Plateau Using Time‐Lapse Electrical Resistivity Tomography

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 62, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Lateral subsurface flow (LSF) is a key component of rainfall‐runoff generation on alpine forested slopes, but the influence of weathered bedrock on LSF remains poorly understood due to methodological constraints in monitoring three‐dimensional flow dynamics. This study addresses this gap by proposing a standardized morphological interpretation

Improving transient gene expression and agroinfiltration‐based transformation effectiveness in Indonesian orchid Phalaenopsis amabilis (L.) Blume

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Biotechnology
Transient gene expression is an approach used to study transient genes across various species, with infiltration by Agrobacterium tumefaciens (agroinfiltration) being a commonly used method.

Maintaining the impact of action‐oriented entrepreneurship training: Extending the path‐centric account

open access: yesApplied Psychology, Volume 75, Issue 3, June 2026.
Abstract Recent research introduced the path‐centric account of action‐oriented entrepreneurship training, which explains training transfer by reciprocal relationships between entrepreneurial motivation and action evolving after training. Based on the path‐centric account, we develop a theoretical model that suggests a reciprocal relationship between ...

Contestation over a Profession's Memory: The UK Pharmacy Profession, 1880–1905

open access: yesJournal of Management Studies, Volume 63, Issue 4, Page 1874-1906, June 2026.
Abstract We draw on the historical case of the UK pharmacy industry from 1880–1905 to examine how, in the face of a competitive threat to their survival, lower status professionals seek to reinvigorate the memory of their role in providing community service in the public interest.

Phylogenetic history shapes the composition of floral scents in a specialized pollination mutualism

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 250, Issue 5, Page 3428-3443, June 2026.
Summary Most studies of the chemical ecology of plant–pollinator interactions emphasize the role of pollinator‐mediated selection in shaping floral scent composition. Nevertheless, phylogeny may constrain the metabolic pathways underlying these profiles, thereby influencing the evolutionary trajectory of the emitted signals.
