Transoral Robotic‐Assisted Removal of a Submucosal Pyriform Sinus Foreign Body

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, EarlyView.
Submucosal foreign bodies of the medial pyriform sinus represent a challenge given limited visualization and difficult retraction with endoscopic approaches, and risk of injury to the recurrent laryngeal nerve with open approaches. We present a novel case utilizing the Da Vinci SP system for removal of an embedded fishbone from the medial pyriform ...

Efficacy and Tolerability of Transoral Sialolithotomy in Non‐Palpable Submandibular Lithiasis

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, EarlyView.
Transoral sialolithotomy has long been considered inappropriate for non‐palpable submandibular stones. In this retrospective cohort of 457 patients, we compared outcomes between palpable and non‐palpable stones, showing that the technique allows successful removal in 87% of non‐palpable cases, with no associated complications.

International Society of Laser Proctology Position Paper on SiLaC and EPSiT/SiLaC in the Management of Pilonidal Sinus Disease

open access: yesLasers in Surgery and Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Minimally invasive treatment of pilonidal sinus disease (PSD) via sinus tract laser closure (SiLaC) and endoscopic pilonidal sinus treatment (EPSiT) is being increasingly employed to manage PSD. Despite its wide adoption amongst colorectal surgeons in many nations, there still exists a wide heterogeneity in surgical technique.

Luminescent Electro‐Spun Nanofibers Crosslinked with Boronic Esters Exhibiting Controlled Release of Carbon Dots for Detection of Wound pHs and Enhanced Antimicrobial

open access: yesMacromolecular Bioscience, EarlyView.
Fabrication of well‐defined CND‐embedded e‐spun nanofibrous mats crosslinked with degradable boronic ester crosslinks in response to pHs and hydrogen peroxide found in wounds, and capable of pH‐responsive release of CNDs, for simultaneous detection and treatment of bacteria.
