Endoscopic Management of Perforation of Right Hepatic Duct Following Non-Surgical Abdominal Trauma [PDF]
Isolated bile duct injuries after blunt abdominal trauma are rare. Surgery is the usual mode of treatment. We report a patient with a right hepatic duct injury following blunt abdominal trauma who was managed successfully by endoscopic ...

The research findings indicate that dimethyl itaconate (DI) alleviates Escherichia coli (E. coli) induced endometritis by modulating the gut microbiota and enriching the abundance of norank_f_Muribaculaceae, thereby increasing the production of guanosine.

Janus kinase 2 inhibition by pacritinib as potential therapeutic target for liver fibrosis
Diagram of the activation of the profibrotic and procontractile Janus kinase 2 (JAK2)/Ras homolog family member A/Rho‐kinase pathway and the inhibition of phosphorylated JAK2 by pacritinib to inhibit hepatic stellate cell activity. Abstract Background and Aims Janus kinase 2 (JAK2) signaling is increased in human and experimental liver fibrosis with ...

Isolated Cecal Rupture after Blunt Abdominal Trauma [PDF]
Cecal perforation following blunt abdominal trauma is an uncommon and challenging injury. We report a 19-year-old HIV-positive woman who presented with abdominal pain after a high-speed motor vehicle crash.

A 5-year-old child sustained blunt trauma to the cervical trachea. Diffuse subcutaneous emphysema of the neck and thorax developed rapidly. Anaesthesia was induced with halothane through a face-piece and the patient breathed spontaneously until the lesion has been evaluated. This course is advocated in the management of such injuries.

The study reveals that glutaminolysis in macrophages is inhibited under type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) conditions, which impedes fracture healing by reducing bone morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP2) production through increased cytosine methylation on the promoter.

c‐Rel–dependent Chk2 signaling regulates the DNA damage response limiting hepatocarcinogenesis
In response to genotoxic injury, c‐Rel upregulates ATM‐Chk2‐p53 pathway DNA damage proteins to limiting hepatocarcinogenesis. Abstract Background and Aims Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a leading cause of cancer‐related death. The NF‐κB transcription factor family subunit c‐Rel is typically protumorigenic; however, it has recently been reported as a

Is Bowel Rest a Prerequisite for Successful Outcome in Nonoperative Management of Extrahepatic Bile Duct Blunt Injury in Children? [PDF]
Extrahepatic bile duct injury resulting from blunt abdominal trauma in children is not common. Nonoperative management has become the standard of care. During a two-year period from January 2005 to December 2006, we treated 1015 pediatric traumas.

COPS5 Triggers Ferroptosis Defense by Stabilizing MK2 in Hepatocellular Carcinoma
COPS5, which is overexpressed in HCC in an amplification‐ and ATF4‐dependent manner, stabilizes MK2 through deubiquitination and, in turn, induces HSPB1 activation, protecting HCC cells from ferroptosis and thus promoting sorafenib resistance and tumor progression. Abstract Sorafenib, which is proven to serve as a potent ferroptosis inducer, is used as

CHIN117 is a dual cysteinyl leukotriene receptor 1 (CYSLTR1) antagonist and G‐protein‐coupled bile acid receptor 1 (GPBAR1) agonist. In the liver, GPBAR1 and CYSLTR1 are coexpressed by liver sinusoidal endothelial cells (LSECs), HSCs, circulating monocytes/macrophages, and liver resident macrophages (Kupffer cells).
