Effects of Fluorescence‐Activated Cell Sorting on Boar Sperm Motility Subpopulations and In Vitro Embryo Development

open access: yesMolecular Reproduction and Development, Volume 93, Issue 6, June 2026.
Effects of fluorescence‐activated sperm sorting on IVF outcomes and motility subpopulations. Distinct boar ejaculates were either used directly for in vitro fertilization (IVF; control, unsorted) or processed by fluorescence‐activated cell sorting to generate a sorted sperm population.

Dwelling in a post‐fallout landscape: re‐shaping and sustaining life in a former evacuation zone in Fukushima Habiter après la catastrophe : redonner forme au monde et entretenir la vie dans une ancienne zone évacuée à Fukushima

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Anthropological Institute, Volume 32, Issue 2, Page 434-455, June 2026.
This article explores the activities of daily life in a village neighbouring the TEPCO nuclear power plant in Fukushima. It argues that one of the potentials of taking a dwelling perspective – a phenomenological approach to living within the ecological and social environments – emerges most compellingly within a polluted landscape.

Changes in pH of Boar Semen Extenders

open access: yes, 1999
An experiment was conducted to examine the change in pH across time of five extenders (MR-A, VSP, BTS, Merck III and SpermAid). Type of extender and time of measurement affected (P \u3c .01) the overall pH of liquid extender; however an interaction (P ...

Dose rates of antimicrobial substances in boar semen preservation—time to establish new protocols

open access: yes, 2017
To achieve a standardized number of spermatozoa in the final AI dose, varying amounts of extender fluid with a fixed concentration of antimicrobial substances are currently added to boar ejaculates. This practice ignores the different degrees of dilution

Minor epic: Notes toward a different “Anthropoetry”

open access: yesAnthropology and Humanism, Volume 51, Issue 1, June 2026.
Abstract Anthropologists have often turned to poetry as a means of accessing emotional registers of which conventional academic prose is unable to avail. In doing so, they have tacitly conflated poetry with lyric poetry, today probably the most widely practiced poetic genre, associated in particular with the expression of inner feelings and subjectival

Environmentally adjusted productivity growth and shadow prices for dairy farms

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Agricultural Economics/Revue canadienne d'agroeconomie, Volume 74, Issue 2, Page 99-123, June 2026.
Abstract We estimate the environmentally adjusted productivity growth and shadow price for Ontario dairy farms. We use an input‐oriented directional distance function and farm‐level data from 2000 to 2020. First, we find that while GHG emissions per cow increase with higher milk yields, emission intensity decreases as milk yield per cow increases.

In Search of the Lost Brown Trout (Salmo trutta Complex) Using DNA of Ancient and Modern Samples From the Southern Italian Peninsula

open access: yesEvolutionary Applications, Volume 19, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT The current diversity and distribution of species and populations have been shaped by the major climatic oscillations during the Quaternary. The brown trout (Salmo trutta) is a striking example of the strong effect of past climate changes on the evolutionary history of species, in fact, the alternation of glacial/interglacial cycles has led to
