Le bocage, une des clés de la fonctionnalité des cours d'eau en tête de bassin versant [PDF]

open access: yesSciences, Eaux & Territoires, 2019
La ripisylve désigne les formations végétales qui se développent sur les bords des rivières. En Bretagne et Pays de la Loire, le long des petits cours d'eau en tête de bassin versant, cette ripisylve prend souvent la forme d'une haie plus ou moins large ...

Multifragmentation of a very heavy nuclear system (I): Selection of single-source events

open access: yes, 2000
A sample of `single-source' events, compatible with the multifragmentation of very heavy fused systems, are isolated among well-measured 155Gd+natU 36AMeV reactions by examining the evolution of the kinematics of fragments with Z>=5 as a function of the ...

Managing hedgerows for biodiversity: Disentangling the effects of trimming, structure and connectivity on the use of linear features by bats

open access: yesJournal of Applied Ecology, Volume 62, Issue 12, Page 3300-3313, December 2025.
Our findings underscore the value of extensive hedgerow management in promoting on‐farm bat activity and support the integration of simple hedgerow quality assessment protocols into agri‐environment schemes. Consistent with previous research, we confirm the importance of tall, tree‐filled hedgerows and emphasise the need to preserve mature trees.

Living in the Hedge: Farmland Reptile Diversity Is Driven by Hedgerow Structural Complexity and Landscape Connectivity

open access: yesAnimal Conservation, Volume 28, Issue 6, Page 817-831, December 2025.
Agricultural intensification is responsible for biodiversity decline, but high‐quality field margins may mitigate these effects. We studied reptile species richness in a farming landscape in western France with a focus on hedgerows structure and density.

Responses of Temperate Grassland Plants to Recurrent Heatwaves

open access: yesGrass and Forage Science, Volume 80, Issue 4, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Heatwaves are an often‐overlooked aspect of current climate change in plant research. However, projections of future scenarios show an increase in their frequency and intensity in most temperate‐climate regions. The effects of heatwaves on crop and woody species are well known. In contrast, for wild herbaceous species, no overview is available.
