Body Fat Percentage of Children Varies According to Their Diet Composition
Journal of the American Dietetic Association, 1997To ascertain the association between diet composition and body fat percentage in 9- and 10-year-old children. Also, to examine the influence of gender, total energy intake, fitness, physical activity, and parental body mass on the relationship between diet composition and adiposity.Diet composition was assessed using the National Cancer Institute food ...

Uncovering the FUTREX-6100XL prediction equation for the percentage body fat
Journal of Medical Engineering & Technology, 2012Based on the near infra-red (NIR) interactance method, the FUTREX company has developed a series of instruments, for the estimation of the body fat percentage (%BF). %BF is estimated through prediction equations incorporated in the instruments, which for the newest models (FUTREX-6100XL and FUTREX-6100A/ZL) are proprietary and they are not published ...

Percentage Body Fat and Anthropometric Measures in Hong Kong Adolescents
Research in Sports Medicine, 2013This study investigates the associations between percentage body fat (%BF) and anthropometric parameters in adolescents of mixed weight status. Anthropometric parameters including height, weight, and waist circumference (WC), and %BF were assessed in 903 Hong Kong Chinese students (mean age 14.7 years). The calculated body mass index (BMI) and waist-to-

Nihon rinsho. Japanese journal of clinical medicine, 2009
Obesity is primarily defined by excess of body fat. Skinfold test, bioelectrical impedance analysis, and dual energy X-ray absorptiometry are useful clinicial tests for determining body fat volume or rate. It has shown that visceral fat or abdominal obesity strongly correlated with insulin resistance and cardiovascular diseases.
