Body measurement techniques

Journal of Fashion Marketing and Management: An International Journal, 2003
With the use of 3D body scanners, body measurement techniques can be non‐contact, instant, and accurate. However, how each scanner establishes landmarks and takes the measurements should be established so that standardization of the data capture can be realized.

Measuring Body Temperature

Nursing times, 2013
Body temperature is one of the four main vital signs that must be monitored to ensure safe and effective care. Temperature measurement is recommended by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence a part of the initial assessment in acute illness in adults (NICE, 2007) and by the Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network guidelines for post ...

Body Measurement

The Arithmetic Teacher, 1989
In teaching the customary units of measure, the teacher risks offering two few activities that focus on measuring or on determining relationships among units. In the metric system, relationships among units are especially important and become clear to students when we offer them the opportunity to measure many familiar objects.

Body Composition Measurements

The Endocrinologist, 2000
Standard weight-for-age and height-for-age charts have been used for many years to assess growth and body compositions of children, including curves specific to the Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS). However, a number of direct measures of body compositions have been developed in recent years.

Body impedance measurements during dialysis.

European journal of clinical nutrition, 1991
Changes in body weight in relation to changes in body impedance were studied in six male and four female patients before and during dialysis. Before dialysis, fat-free mass from skinfolds was 46.5 +/- 6.8 kg, and total body water calculated from bio-electrical impedance was 36.9 +/- 5.2 kg.

Body temperature measurement

Abstract Intraoperative temperature measurement represents an important but underappreciated aspect of patient care under the purview of the anesthesiologist. Deviations from normal body temperature can have important consequences. Hypothermia is most commonly encountered and is usually caused by loss of heat via radiation within the ...

Measurement of body venous tone

Journal of Pharmacological and Toxicological Methods, 2000
The venous system contains about 70% of the blood volume, and approximately 75% of the venous volume is in the small veins and venules. Veins play an active role in the control of cardiac output (CO) and blood pressure. Drugs that interfere with venous tone have profound effects on CO and blood pressure due to the large venous capacity.

The Measurement of Body Currents

Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1941
IN these days of supersensitive amplifiers and recording apparatus, it is very tempting to define life and death in terms of electrical activity. Whether or not this concept is accurate, we can, on present knowledge liken living tissue to a B-battery and dead tissue to a burned out generator. The function of living tissue, however, is so closely allied
