CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

The Income Gradient and Distribution-Sensitive Measures of Overweight in the U.S.

open access: yes
This paper considers alternate measures of overweight in the U.S. that are sensitive to changes in the body-mass index (BMI) distribution, more robust to measurement error and continuous in the body-mass index (BMI) at the overweight threshold.

Dual Hierarchy for Gravitational n-body

open access: yes, 2023
The n-body problem is the simulation of pair-wise interactions between n objects. This problem appears in many forms, with the classic example being the modeling of gravitational forces between point masses, necessary for cosmological simulations.

Exploring the interplay between stress level, sleep quality, and body composition among university students: A cross-sectional study

open access: yesJournal of Education and Health Promotion
BACKGROUND: High levels of stress and inadequate sleep are contributing factors that influence body composition and physical health. Therefore, this study explored the prevalence and interrelationship between stress level, sleep quality, and body ...

Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

The cutoff points of body roundness index for predicting metabolic syndrome in the Brazilian population among 18–59 years

open access: yesScientific Reports
This study aimed to establish cutoff points for the body roundness index as a predictor of metabolic syndrome in a Brazilian adult population. This population-based cross-sectional study was conducted with data from a subsample of laboratory tests from ...

Body Measurements and Body Condition Scoring in Bactrian Camels

open access: yesAnimals
Body measurements were used regularly to describe phenotypes or the weight of the animal. However, few data described the age effect on the different measurements. In the present paper, 477 Bactrian camels (7-180 months old) were measured, and their growth was modelized by using Beta-Growth equation.

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...
