Simultaneous channel measurements of the on-body and body-to-body channels

2016 IEEE 27th Annual International Symposium on Personal, Indoor, and Mobile Radio Communications (PIMRC), 2016
In this paper, we characterize the simultaneous channel response of narrowband on-body and body-to-body channels at 2.48 GHz using the κ-μ fading model. The measurements considered three nodes, two of these were located on the front-chest and front-central-waist of an adult male, and the third node was located on the front-central-waist of an adult ...

Silhouette Body Measurement Benchmarks

2020 25th International Conference on Pattern Recognition (ICPR), 2021
Anthropometric body measurements are important for industrial design, garment fitting, medical diagnosis and ergonomics. A number of methods have been proposed to estimate the body measurements from images, but progress has been slow due to the lack of realistic and publicly available datasets.

The Measurement of Body Currents

Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1941
IN these days of supersensitive amplifiers and recording apparatus, it is very tempting to define life and death in terms of electrical activity. Whether or not this concept is accurate, we can, on present knowledge liken living tissue to a B-battery and dead tissue to a burned out generator. The function of living tissue, however, is so closely allied

Body temperature measurement

Clinical Physics and Physiological Measurement, 1985
This article reviews present techniques of body temperature measurement. The extent to which currently available thermometers satisfy the various requirements of medical thermometry are discussed.

Body Measurement

The Arithmetic Teacher, 1989
In teaching the customary units of measure, the teacher risks offering two few activities that focus on measuring or on determining relationships among units. In the metric system, relationships among units are especially important and become clear to students when we offer them the opportunity to measure many familiar objects.

Body Fat and Skinfold Measurements

Scandinavian Journal of Clinical and Laboratory Investigation, 1971
Height, weight, skeletal diameters, skinfolds and body volume (hydrostatic weighing) were measured on 19 male and 19 female students. The fat weight was calculated from body weight, volume and skeletal measurements. The covariation of fat weight with skinfold measurements was investigated by multiple regression analysis.

The Measured Body

Issues in Science and Technology
Redesigning motion capture systems to be more representative of real human bodies and movements could make them fairer and more useful for applications including law enforcement and medical diagnostics.

On Measures of Symmetry of Convex Bodies

Canadian Journal of Mathematics, 1965
Let K be a convex body (compact, convex set with interior points) in n-dimensional Euclidean space En, and let V(K) denote the volume of K. Let K′ be a centrally symmetric body of maximum volume contained in K (in fact, K′ is unique; see 2 or 9), and definec(K) = V(K′)/V(K)Letc(n) = inf{c(K) : K ⊂ En}.

Body Height Measurements in Images

Journal of Forensic Sciences, 2009
Abstract:  For any measurement of a person’s height in an image, a difference exists between the actual height of the person and the image measurement. In order to gain knowledge about statistical behavior of differences between actual and measured heights it is necessary to make reference recordings, e.g., of test persons under the same recording ...
