Thermal Imaging of Body Surface Temperature Distribution in Women with Anorexia Nervosa.
European eating disorders review, 2016The drastic reduction in body weight observed in anorexia nervosa (AN) leads to various endocrine changes and consequently to disturbance in thermoregulation mechanisms and body temperature.

Fusion of body surface potential and body surface Laplacian signals for electrocardiographic imaging
IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, 2000Various approaches to the solution to the inverse problem of electrocardiography have been proposed over the years. Recently, the use of inverse algorithms using measured body surface Laplacians has been proposed, and in various studies this technique has been shown to outperform the traditional use of body surface potentials in certain model problems.

In the wake of critiques that have rendered problematic such familiar objects of study as culture and social structure, anthropologists seeking ways to engage ethnographically with the complexities of the contemporary world have fashioned new kinds of objects of study. These generally continue, however, to be framed as just that—as objects. Rather than

Calculation of Surface Area of the Body
Pediatrics, 1960Several recent commentaries have been concerned primarily with the use of surface area of the body as a means of computing parenteral fluid dosages. Since there is, fortunately, a reasonably wide latitude of bodily homeostatic mechanisms, it becomes largely a matter of personal preference whether one utilizes surface area to estimate initial dosages or

Body pressures and bed surfaces
Nursing Standard, 1991Specialised beds which are designed to prevent unacceptably high levels of pressure loads on skin surfaces are frequently used in the management of patients with, or at risk of developing, pressure sores. This study compares the intersurface pressure on 'at risk' body sites of six subjects on a new design of water bed with those obtained from resting ...

D.B. Geselowitz and J. Ferrara comment on a paper by R.D. Throne and L.G. Olson which was published in ibid., vol.47, p. 452-62 (2000). Throne and Olson reply to these comments. The discussion concerns the use of a spherical model and a body surface Laplacian in the solution of the electrocardiographic inverse problem and the influence of noise.

Body-Surface-Potential-Mapping [PDF]
Persistent atrial fibrillation is a common heart rhythm disturbance and a leading cause of hospitalization and death. Current available therapy remains suboptimal. Catheter ablation of responsible cardiac tissue is more effective than medications, but a substantial proportion of patients require repeat procedures.

The lectures I will give here will be based in the first instance on the thesis of one of my Cambridge students, Dr. John C. Inkson [1], which has been the source of a number of articles in the literature [2]. John’s work in turn leans heavily as far as formalism is concerned on some papers by D.M.

BODY SURFACE AS A BASIS FOR DOSAGE
Pediatrics, 1959MODERN therapeutic technology, with its array of drugs, sera and infusates, has demanded that the pediatrician devise some means whereby these materials can be given in proper dosage to subjects of widely varying size. At the same time modern clinical investigation has indicated the extent to which the human young differ metabolically and ...
