$\rm{SL}(n)$ covariant function-valued valuations [PDF]

open access: yesAdv. Math. 377 (2021), 107462, 1-40, 2021
Classifications of $\rm{SL}(n)$ covariant function-valued valuations are established with some assumptions of continuity. New valuations, for example, weighted moment functions, are introduced and our classifications give unified characterizations of the Laplace transform on convex bodies, $L_p$ moment bodies, $L_p$ difference bodies, and polar $L_p ...

Association between bodyweight perception, nutritional status, and weight control practices: A cross-sectional analysis from the Chilean Health Survey 2016–2017

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2022
This research aimed (1) to examine the agreement between body mass index (BMI)-based nutritional status and perceived nutritional status overall and by socio-demographic factors and (2) to state the association between the accuracy of weight perception ...

Semaglutide lowers body weight in rodents via distributed neural pathways.

open access: yesJCI Insight, 2020
Semaglutide, a glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) analog, induces weight loss, lowers glucose levels, and reduces cardiovascular risk in patients with diabetes. Mechanistic preclinical studies suggest weight loss is mediated through GLP-1 receptors (GLP-1Rs)

Body shape trajectories are associated with birth weight, body mass index and sociodemographic conditions in participants of the Brazilian Longitudinal Study of Adult Health (ELSA-Brasil): a multiple correspondence analysis

open access: yesBMC Public Health, 2023
Background Evaluating lifelong weight trajectories is challenging due to the high costs of studies that follow individuals from childhood to adulthood. The use of silhouette scales has been a new approach to assess the body shape trajectory across life ...

Drude weight and the many-body quantum metric in one-dimensional Bose systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
We study the effect of quantum geometry on the many-body ground state of one-dimensional interacting bosonic systems. We find that the Drude weight is given by the sum of the kinetic energy and a term proportional to the many-body quantum metric of the ground state.

Impaired nutrient signaling and body weight control in a Na⁺ neutral amino acid cotransporter (Slc6a19)-deficient mouse [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Amino acid uptake in the intestine and kidney is mediated by a variety of amino acid transporters. To understand the role of epithelial neutral amino acid uptake in whole body homeostasis, we analyzed mice lacking the apical broad-spectrum neutral (0 ...
