Boeckella diamantina n.sp. (Calanoida, Centropagidae), from a high Andean lake in Mendoza, Argentina

Hydrobiologia, 1994
A new species of Boeckella from limnetic samples of Laguna del Diamante, a high lake in the Andes (34°10′ S) is described and illustrated. The species is defined by the characters of the male fifth leg: the right two segmented endopod bears four peculiar, short, claw-like spines, the left endopod is a simple finger-like projection.

Predation, competition, and co-occurrences of Boeckella and Calamoecia (Copepoda: Calanoida) in Western Australia

Hydrobiologia, 1997
Patterns of co-occurrences of Boeckella and Calamoeciafound in Western Australia are documented. Patterns are analyzed inrelation to size of organisms and to geographical distributions oforganisms. Deviations from randomness in the number ofmulti-species assemblages suggest that biotic interactionsinfluence co-occurrences, but size relationships in ...

Fungal parasitism in a freshwater copepod: Components of the interaction between Aphanomyces and Boeckella

Journal of Invertebrate Pathology, 1985
Abstract The transmission of Aphanomyces infection among carriers (host females), host mortality, recovery from infection, and stages in the infection process were investigated in Boeckella dilatata (Copepoda: Calanoida) at 15°C in the laboratory. Over a 4-week period, 57.9% female B.

Relationships between fecal pellet production and feeding in the calanoid copepod Boeckella

Journal of Plankton Research, 1990
Study of the influence of food concentration on the number, size and total volume of fecal pellets for two species of Boeckella from Lake Titicaca. The fecal pellet production was also evaluated as an indicator of feeding rates and food ...

A revision of the Australasian species of the freshwater genera Boeckella and Hemiboeckella (Copepoda: Calanoida)

Marine and Freshwater Research, 1964
The taxonomic utility of various characters is discussed. The status of Hemiboeckella searli Sars is discussed, and the retention of the monotypic genus Hemiboeckella is considered to be justified. A list of generic characters is given for both Boeckella and Hemiboeckella, a key is given to the Australasian species of Boeckella and is accompanied by ...

On the Occurrence of Dinoflagellate Parasitism in a Freshwater Calanoid Copepod (Boeckella Hamata Brehm)

Crustaceana, 1965
On
