Synthesis of high quality boehmite and γ-alumina for phosphorus removal from water works sludge by extraction and hydrothermal treatment.

Environmental Research, 2022
Alum sludge from water treatment was calcined and extracted to synthesize high quality boehmite and γ-alumina for phosphate removal. Synthesized boehmite and γ-alumina were able to remove phosphate quickly and effectively.

A mechanistic approach of chromium (VI) adsorption onto manganese oxides and boehmite

, 2020
The concentration of chromium (VI) in the soil is an important environmental concern due to its mobility and acute toxicity. Due to its toxicity, removal of this species is very important.

Chromium (VI) adsorption on boehmite

Journal of Hazardous Materials, 2009
Boehmite was synthesized and characterized in order to study the adsorption behavior and the removal of Cr(VI) ions from aqueous solutions as a function of contact time, initial pH solution, amount of adsorbent and initial metal ion concentration, using batch technique.

Hydrargillite → boehmite transformation

Inorganic Materials, 2010
The hydrargillite → boehmite transformation has been studied at 200 and 250°C in water and water vapor. Samples have been characterized by X-ray diffraction, differential thermal analysis, thermogravimetry, IR spectroscopy, and transmission and scanning electron microscopy before and after autoclaving for various lengths of time.

Properties of boehmite and Al2O3 thin films prepared from boehmite nanofibres

Journal of Materials Chemistry, 2011
Transparent and nanoporous self-standing films consisting of oriented boehmite nanofibres were fabricated via the self-assembly of the fibres. The film-forming ability of boehmite nanofibres was closely related to their aspect ratio, and the fibres of 100 to 5000 in aspect ratio were favourable to fabricate the films.

The boehmite ‘solubility gap’

Hydrometallurgy, 2011
Abstract Boehmite, rather than gibbsite, precipitation has been proposed in the literature as a potential energy-saving modification of the Bayer process for the production of alumina. Previous experimental studies have reported that true equilibrium solubilities were not attained during boehmite precipitation.
