Investigation of gas exchange processes in peat bog ecosystems by means of innovative Raman gas spectroscopy.

Analytical Chemistry, 2013
Highly sensitive Raman gas spectroscopy is introduced for simultaneous real time analysis of O(2), CO(2), CH(4), and N(2) in order to elucidate the dynamics of greenhouse gases evolving from climate-sensitive ecosystems.

History of atmospheric lead deposition since 12,370 (14)C yr BP from a peat bog, jura mountains, switzerland

Science, 1998
A continuous record of atmospheric lead since 12,370 carbon-14 years before the present (14C yr BP) is preserved in a Swiss peat bog. Enhanced fluxes caused by climate changes reached their maxima 10, 590 (14)C yr BP (Younger Dryas) and 8230 (14)C yr BP.

Both the state and Ny Jord programs have received considerable aid, sometimes indirect, from another source. This is Det Norske Myrselskap, The Norwegian Bog Association. It is a semi-public organization, founded in 1902 and very active since the early 1930s, whose task was to sponsor the proper use of Norwegian bogs and peat.

The changing landscape of Clara Bog: the history of an Irish raised bog

Irish Geography, 2008
Clara Bog is one of the few raised bogs that has not been fully exploited in the Irish midlands and is a reminder of how the landscape of this region once appeared. This paper describes how the Clara Bog landscape has been changing since the commencement of the Holocene 11,500 years ago.

Influence of Sphagnum and Other Mosses on Bog Reactions

In all cases except the Hartford bog the samples from the deeper horizons were taken with a Davis peat sampler described by Dachnowski ('24). Dr. Hugo Oswald of Sweden, using a very efficient Swedish instrument, furnished the writer with samples of the ...
