Deformational Mechanism and Tectonic Evolution of Mesozoic-Cenozoic Nonmarine Basins from Bohai Bay Basin - China

open access: yes, 2019
Bohai Bay Basin,China, is a rift basin developed in Mesozoic-Cenozoic time span. It was compressionally deformed during Caledonian Orogeny and situated on a Paleozoic platform “old craton” basement and later subjected to extensional stress and induced ...

Investigating the Influence of Postlandfall Meandering Typhoons on Disparities in Precipitation and Raindrop Size Spectra Between Proximal Stations: An Analysis Stemming From East China Observations

open access: yesAdvances in Meteorology, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
The microphysical characteristics of two typhoons, Rumbia and In‐Fa, were analyzed using the data of raindrop size distribution (DSD) measured by the particle measurement system in East China. The results reveal significant disparities in the terminal velocity–particle size fitting relationships for precipitation particles from different typhoons.

Multimetrics Assessment of Explicit Hail Size Prediction Using Two‐ and Three‐Moment Microphysical Schemes for a Severe Hailstorm in Northeastern China

open access: yesAdvances in Meteorology, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
At midnight on September 30, 2021, a severe hailstorm swept over northeastern China, producing egg‐sized hail over Dalian Airport, causing damages to more than 40 aircrafts and imposing tremendous pressure on operational capacity of the airport. The explicit hail prediction skills of the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model are investigated ...

Geochemical Characteristics of Carboniferous-Permian Coal-Formed Gas in Bohai Bay Basin

open access: yes, 2010
Coal-formed gas reservoirs have been found in several depressions in Bohai Bay Basin. The gas was mainly generated by the Carboniferous-Permian coal measures, which are good source rocks. The exploration of coal-formed gas has a broad prospect. The main
