Abstract Stromatolites archive critical information on Precambrian marine environments, but their geochemical signals are often obscured using complex diagenetic processes. Tonian stromatolites from the Weiji Formation, North China, show selective dolomitization in dark stromatolitic laminae, forming zoned dolomites.

Characteristics of Sediment Bacterial Community in Response to Environmental Impacts in a Sewage Polluted River [PDF]
The Jiaolai River is the main source of industrial and irrigation water for its catchment of 3900 km(2). Anthropogenic activities have caused heavy pollution of this river, but their impacts on biota have never been evaluated.

Strain Rates Along the Alpine‐Himalayan Belt From a Comprehensive GNSS Velocity Field
Abstract The Alpine‐Himalayan belt is one of Earth's most dynamic and complex regions, characterized by intense tectonic deformation and seismicity. Comprehensive analyses of continental‐scale crustal deformation and seismic hazards along this extensive orogenic belt require the compilation of large geodetic data sets.

Characterizing Geometrical Anisotropy of Petrophysical properties in the middle Shahejie formation, Liaohe Depression, China. [PDF]
Knowledge of reservoir body lateral extent is important information for estimation of hydrocarbon initially in place and the recoverable quantity. This study reports a stepwise approach to evaluate geometrical anisotropy of the rapidly changing alluvial ...

Modeling of non-point source nitrogen pollution from 1979 to 2008 in Jiaodong Peninsula, China [PDF]
Efforts to reduce land-based non-point source (NPS) pollutions from watersheds to coastal waters are ongoing all around the world. In this study, annual yield of NPS nitrogen (NPS-N) pollution in Jiaodong Peninsula, China from 1979 to 2008 was estimated.

Reconstruction of the Cenozoic deformation of the Bohai Bay Basin, North China
Abstract A well‐constrained plate deformation model may lead to an improved understanding of sedimentary basin formation and the connection between subduction history and over‐riding plate deformation. Building quantitative models of basin kinematics and deformation remains challenging often due to the lack of comprehensive ...
