Monitoring Pathogens in Free‐Living Large Herbivores in a Nature Reserve in the Netherlands
Monitoring and surveillance of pathogens are crucial for safeguarding animal and public health. While passive surveillance is more common for wild and free‐living animals, active monitoring improves the detection and characterisation of specific pathogens relevant to animal and public health.

Cross‐sectional study was used to determine the seroprevalence of IBR, associated risk factors and KAP. A total of 384 cattle's sera samples were collected and competitive ELISA for testing anti‐gB. A total of 100 questionnaire data were collected from animal owners. The total prevalence was 70.54% at herd and 80.47% at individual cattle level.

Genetic characterization of bovine herpesvirus 1 (BoHV-1) isolates from India
Two bovine herpesvirus-1 (BoHV-1) isolates previously recovered from 2 animals showing different clinical symptoms, i.e. respiratory disease and balanoposthitis, were partially nucleotide sequenced at the gB gene. Aligned nucleotide sequences revealed high degree of identity among all the alphaherpesviruses compared in the study.

Survey on antibody against bovine herpesvirus 1 (BoHV-1) in cattle in Korea [PDF]
Abstract This study was performed in Korea to get serological information for bovine herpesvirus 1 (BoHV-1), most commonly found in cattle. Antibodies against BoHV-1 were examined by targeting infectious bo-vine rhinotracheitis (IBR) in unvaccinated and vaccinated cattle, using viral neutralization (VN) test.
