p21Waf1/Cip1 as a molecular sensor for BoHV-4 replication
Journal of Virological Methods, 2009BoHV-4 replication cycle is dependent on the S-phase of the cell-cycle at the stage of viral DNA synthesis. Because p21 is a rate-limiting regulator of the G1/S-phase transition and up-regulated by DNA-damaging agents, in this study p21 expression in BoHV-4 infected cells was investigated.

Double immunization strategy with a BoHV-4-vectorialized secreted chimeric peptide BVDV-E2/BoHV-1-gD
Vaccine, 2008A bovine herpesvirus 4 was isolated from the milk cell fraction of a healthy cow and his full genome cloned as a bacterial artificial chromosome. So cloned viral genome was used as a vector platform to deliver in vitro and in vivo an optimized secreted chimeric peptide obtained by the fusion of the bovine viral diarrhoea virus glycoprotein E2 ...

Two farms in the Belgrade area have experienced serious problems with postpartal metritis. Serological examination of BoHV-4 infection was done using ELISA test and vaginal swabs were used for virus isolation. Average seroprevalence of BoHV-4 in these farms was 84.37%.

In this work we reported the results of a study in which cell death caused by Bovine Herpesvirus-4 (BoHV-4) and Bovine Herpesvirus-1 (BoHV-1) in the Bovine Embrional Kidney (BEK) cell line was analyzed. Results showed that apoptosis was the principal cytophatic effect caused by BoHV-4 in BEK cells, when evaluated by fluorescence microscopy of cells ...
