Genetic Characterization and Molecular Docking of Flavonoid Compounds Against Klebsiella pneumoniae and Bovine Herpesvirus Type 1 (BoHV-1) Isolated From Clinical Dairy Cattle Cases. [PDF]
Klebsiella pneumoniae and Bovine Herpesvirus Type 1 (BoHV‐1) are two significant pathogens of dairy cattle that cause debilitating diseases in the respiratory, reproductive, and mammary gland systems. Conventional antimicrobials have become less effective due to the emergence of antimicrobial‐resistant strains, and other molecules are needed for ...

Mapping the sites of latency and reactivation by bovine herpesvirus 5 (BoHV-5) and a thymidine kinase-deleted BoHV-5 in lambs [PDF]
A thymidine kinase (tk)-deleted bovine herpesvirus 5 (BoHV-5tkΔ) was previously shown to establish latent infection and reactivate - even poorly - in a sheep model (Cadore et al. 2013). As TK-negative alphaherpesviruses are unlike to reactivate in neural tissue, this study investigated the sites of latency and reactivation by this recombinant in lambs.

Pantinin-Derived Peptides against Veterinary Herpesviruses: Activity and Structural Characterization. [PDF]
Pantinin‐1 and pantinin‐2, scorpion venom–derived peptides, show potent antiviral activity against caprine and bovine herpesviruses. Acting via virucidal action and inhibition of viral entry/fusion, they adopt α‐helical structures in membrane‐mimetic environments. These structure–activity insights highlight their potential as therapeutic agents against

Serological evaluation of bovine herpesvirus 1 and 5 in cattle-breeding systems on Colombia’s high plains [PDF]
Objective. The aim of this study was to determine the presence of Bovine herpesvirus – 1 (BoHV- 1) and Bovine herpesvirus 5 (BoHV-5) neutralizing antibodies in herds on the Colombian high plains and their correlation with the level of cross-protection ...

Differential expression of cyclins mRNA in neural tissues of BoHV-1- and BoHV-5- infected cattle [PDF]
Abstract Introduction Bovine alphaherpesvirus types 1 (BoHV-1) and 5 (BoHV-5) are closely related alphaherpesviruses. BoHV-5 causes non-suppurative meningoencephalitis in calves. BoHV-1 is associated with several syndromes and, occasionally, can cause encephalitis.

Recombinant BoHV-5 Glycoprotein Elicits Long-Lasting Protective Immunity in Cattle
Bovine herpesvirus (BoHV)-5 is a worldwide distributed pathogen usually associated with a lethal neurological disease (meningoencephalitis) in dairy and beef cattle resulting in important economic losses due to the cattle industry. Using recombinant glycoprotein D of BoHV-5 (rgD5), we evaluated the long-duration humoral immunity of the recombinant ...
