Optimal design of boil-off gas reliquefaction process in LNG regasification terminals
Computers & Chemical Engineering, 2018Abstract Boil-off gas (BOG) generation in liquefied natural gas (LNG) regasification terminals is substantial and unavoidable. Most terminals employ a cost-intensive BOG reliquefaction process using the send-out LNG. In this work, we study the preliminary design of this process with the objective of minimizing its total annualized cost (TAC).

Application of Boil Off Gas Compressors in Liquefied Natural Gas Plants
Journal of Engineering for Gas Turbines and Power, 2015This paper discusses complexities and challenges of managing boil off gas (BOG) in liquefied natural gas (LNG) liquefaction plants. Most publications in the past have focused on regasification terminals and have not addressed the area of liquefaction plants.

Boil-off gas emission from the fuel tank of a LNG powered truck
Fuel, 2022LNG fueled vehicles are growing in many countries as a convenient solution for heavy duty and collective passenger transport due to the development of a capillary refueling infrastructure. Due to the known pressure build-up phenomenon, long duration parking of vehicles could cause flammable gas emission and potential explosive atmospheres in closed ...

A voyage optimization model of LNG carriers considering boil-off gas
OCEANS 2019 MTS/IEEE SEATTLE, 2019A voyage optimization model is proposed to minimize the operating costs of LNGC (Liquefied Natural Gas Carrier). The model is utilized to suggest the RPM and route plan of the vessel based on the amount of boil-off gas generated. Voyage optimization of LNGC is different from that of general cargo ships because of the natural characteristics of its ...

Design and analysis of boil-off gas reliquefaction processes for the LNG-fueled ships
Applied Thermal Engineering, 2021Abstract An onboard reliquefaction process is necessary and the most common way to deal with boil-off gas (BOG) in LNG-fueled ships. Due to the additional restrictions, this kind of process must consider both the energy efficiency and the compactness.

Numerical Simulation and Comparative Analysis of Three Boil-Off Gas Reliquefaction Systems
Journal of Thermal Science and Engineering Applications, 2022Abstract In view of the problem that the boil-off gas (BOG) generated by small liquefied natural gas (LNG) ships affects the transportation safety, three BOG reliquefaction systems are improved, which are as follows: case 1: serial nitrogen expansion reliquefaction system (N2-BOG); case 2: single mixed refrigerant reliquefaction system ...
