Boil-off gas handling from liquefied hydrogen storage

open access: yes, 2020
The main objective of the thesis was to develop concepts for hydrogen boil-off gas reliquefaction. Three different processes were simulated, analyzed, and compared: helium Brayton refrigeration cycle with two helium turbine expanders, hydrogen Claude refrigeration cycle with two hydrogen expanders, and Brayton refrigeration cycle with two expanders for

Boil-off gas handling for LNG-carriers with a low-swirl burner

open access: yes, 2018
Wärtsilä is looking into a new technology for boil-off gas handling. The technology chosen for further research is a low-swirl burner. This burner has shown promising NOx emission results which is a problem inside the shipping industry. The system is a combined high/low-swirl burner that could handle both premixed- and none-premixed mixture.

Enzymatic Basis for the Oxidative Branch of Aromatic Amino Acid Fermentation Leading to p‐cresol Formation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In anaerobic bacteria, tyrosine serves as an electron donor in the oxidative Stickland fermentation branch, generating p‐hydroxyphenylacetate, ATP and reduced ferredoxin for decarboxylation into p‐cresol. ABSTRACT The phenolic metabolite p‐cresol is a byproduct of tyrosine fermentation by certain strictly anaerobic bacteria, including the human gut ...

Boil-off gas management for onboard LH2 in hydrogen-powered vehicles

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series
Abstract Liquid hydrogen storage has the potential to address both the driving range limitations and high-pressure safety concerns associated with compressed hydrogen storage. However, the boil-off issue poses a significant challenge, limiting the adoption of liquid hydrogen storage for onboard applications in hydrogen-powered vehicles ...

Rational Design of Broad‐Spectrum Anti‐Enteroviral Molecular Glues Targeting Enteroviral RNAi Suppressors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By leveraging this homodimerization mechanism, molecular glues were rationally designed to induce dysfunctional 3A dimerization, thereby restoring antiviral RNAi. The optimal molecular glue, VTP‐32, demonstrated potent and pan‐enterovirus (groups A, B, D) antiviral effects.

Cryogenic tank configuration and capacity of centrifugal boil-off gas compressors

open access: yesRefrigeration Technology
BACKGROUND: During the marine transportation of liquefied natural gas, the transported energy carrier constantly changes its physical state as the gas partly condenses becoming liquid and partly evaporates becoming gas, increasing the pressure in the cargo tanks.
