Boil off gas (BOG) management in Spanish liquid natural gas (LNG) terminals

Applied Energy, 2010
Abstract Spain is a country with six LNG terminals in operation and three more scheduled for 2011. At the same time an increasing number of LNG tanks are under construction to compensate the Spanish lack of underground storage. A method for evaluating the daily boil off generated is presented in this paper.

Theory to boil-off gas cooled shields for cryogenic storage vessels

Cryogenics, 2004
Abstract An intermediate refrigeration with boil-off gas cooled shields using the boil-off gas stream is an alternative method to the conventional intermediate refrigeration with a cryogenic liquid. By using an analytical calculation method relations are derived, which enable complete predictions about the effectiveness of an intermediate ...

Seasonal analysis of boil-off gas rates in liquid hydrogen storage tank using time-series analysis [PDF]

open access: yesInternational journal of hydrogen energy
The storage of liquid hydrogen (LH2) in stationary tanks poses significant challenges due to boil-off gas (BOG) losses caused by heat ingress from the external environment.

Design and modeling of liquid hydrogen cargo transfer system with make-up boil-off gas compression

open access: yesInternational journal of hydrogen energy
This study proposes and evaluates a compressor-assisted liquid hydrogen (LH2) unloading system that utilizes boil-off gas (BOG) to enable LH2 transfer without a submerged pump.

Sustainable boil-off gas utilization in liquefied natural gas production: Economic and environmental benefits

open access: yesJournal of Cleaner Production, 2021
Boil-off gas (BOG) causes negative environmental impacts related to gas streams flaring in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry. This study addresses the resources and energy management and discusses the economic and environmental benefits of ...

Prediction of boil-off gas and boil-off rate in cargo tank of NGH carrier

Journal of the Korean Society of Marine Engineering, 2015
Natural gas hydrates are newly emerging as an environment-friendly source of energy to substitute for fossil fuels in the 21stcentury.NGHs are reported to holds much amounts of natural gas (up to 182 standard volumes of gas per volume of hydrate); they are easy to store and safe to carry at about minus 20 degree Celsius under atmospheric pressure ...
