Direct Synthesis of High‐Valence Protein@UiO‐66 Composites: Linking Crystallization Pathways to Protein Encapsulation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work reports a direct, biocompatible method to synthesize UiO‐66, enabling one‐step encapsulation of proteins without compromising crystallinity or activity. Using advanced in situ and ex situ techniques, the study reveals that proteins integrate concurrently with MOF growth, forming crystalline protein@UiO‐66 nanoparticles, and provide insight ...

Capture of liquid hydrogen boiloff with metal hydride absorbers [PDF]

open access: yes
A procedure which uses metal hydrides to capture some of this low pressure (,1 psig) hydrogen for subsequent reliquefaction is described. Of the five normally occurring sources of boil-off vapor the stream associated with the off-loading of liquid ...

Conceptual Design of Metal Hydride Cartridges with Systematic Alloy Selection and Sizing Guidelines for Boil-Off-Gas Recovery from Liquid Hydrogen

open access: yesAerospace
Hydrogen has huge potential for sustainable future industries, but the formation of hydrogen boil-off gas (BOG) is a main drawback of liquid hydrogen (LH2) applications as BOG venting raises safety issues and leads to significant hydrogen loss.

Leaftronics: Bio‐Fractal Scaffolds From Leaf Venation for Low‐Waste Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
“Leaftronics” transforms naturally evolved leaf venation into quasi‐fractal scaffolds for sustainable electronics. Polymer‐infiltrated leaf skeletons can be used to fabricate ultra‐smooth, reflow‐ and thin‐film‐compatible decomposable substrates, while making the same lignocellulose networks conducting results in flexible transparent electrodes.

Multi Stage Organic Rankine Cycle Using Boil-Off Gas on Liquefied Hydrogen Carrier

open access: yesEnergies
In this study, a Reheat Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) utilizing the cold energy of liquefied hydrogen (LH2) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) was proposed, and its performance was evaluated by comparing it with the base model, which represented a ...

LNG storage tank evaporation influence factor analysis [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Fluid Engineering
The static evaporation of liquefied natural gas (LNG) is a key factor influencing the safety of LNG storage tanks, since it leads to boil-off gas (BOG) generation and pressure rise inside the tank.
