The Boiling-Point and Pressure [PDF]

open access: bronzeNature, 1887
A VERY convenient lecture experiment to show that the boiling-point of liquids is lowered by diminishing the pressure of the surrounding medium, may be made with one of Ducretet's carbon-dioxide tubes. The lower part of the tube contains the CO2 in the liquid condition, while the upper part is, of course, filled with the same body in the gaseous state.

The Boiling Point of the Radium Emanation [PDF]

open access: greenNature, 1909
IT was shown by Rutherford and Soddy in 1903 that the radium emanation was condensed from the gases with which it was mixed at a temperature of about -150° C. From observations of the range of temperature of condensation and volatilisation it was concluded that the condensed emanation exerted a sensible vapour pressure. This has been confirmed by later

The myth of the boiling point. [PDF]

open access: yesSci Prog, 2008
Around 1800, many reputable scientists reported significant variations in the temperature of pure water boiling under normal atmospheric pressure. The reported variations included a difference of over 1°C between boiling in metallic and glass vessels (Gay-Lussac), and “superheating” up to 112°C on extracting dissolved air out of water (De Luc). I have

Competence and safety of digital environment consumption by children and parents

open access: yesЦифровая социология, 2022
Today we are witnessing the active introduction of information technologies in all spheres of life, which has led to an increase and reproduction of the digitalisation risks. This requires the state to form a society with high digital literacy.

The use of a cluster-associate pattern for calculation of melt viscosity

open access: yesҚарағанды университетінің хабаршысы. Физика сериясы, 2022
The liquid state of the substance is the most complex for theoretical description. Modern ideas about the liquid and its viscosity are reduced to the following: in the structure of the liquid, the spatial arrangement of atoms is not fixed, as in a ...

Effectiveness of Groundwater Boiling as Household Water Treatment in Metro and Bekasi Cities, Indonesia [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2021
Groundwater serves as a major drinking water source due to inadequate piped supplies in Indonesia. To eliminate the health risks associated with groundwater consumption, boiling appears as the most suitable and cost-effective treatment technique and ...

Pressure on the boiling point [PDF]

open access: yesWeather, 2020
The record-high pressures from the January 2020 anticyclone were sufficient to measurably change the boiling point of water.

Weighted Wiener Indices of Molecular Graphs with Application to Alkenes and Alkadienes

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
There exist many topological indices that are calculated on saturated hydrocarbons since they can be easily modelled by simple graphs. On the other hand, it is more challenging to investigate topological indices for hydrocarbons with multiple bonds.
