Spectral line selection for time-resolved investigations of laser-induced plasmas by an iterative Boltzmann plot method

Spectrochimica Acta Part B: Atomic Spectroscopy, 2008
Abstract The aim of this work is to provide a procedure to determine time-resolved electron temperatures with minimized relative errors by the Boltzmann plot method. The applied procedure consists of two parts, a systematic theoretical spectral line selection and an iterative Boltzmann plot algorithm.

Determination of electron temperature temporal evolution in laser-induced plasmas through Independent Component Analysis and 3D Boltzmann plot

Spectrochimica Acta Part B: Atomic Spectroscopy, 2017
Abstract In this paper we present the application of Independent Component Analysis to a set of time-resolved LIBS spectra, acquired on a brass sample at different delay times. The decomposition of the LIBS spectra in few Independent Components with a given temporal evolution is then exploited for obtaining the temporal evolution of the plasma ...

Measurement of Magnitude of One-dimensional Temperature Non-uniformity based on Multi-transition TDLAS with Boltzmann Plot

Light, Energy and the Environement 2015, 2015
A new strategy for magnitude of temperature non-uniformity has been investigated based on simulation study and experimental demonstration. It utilized Boltzmann plot to analyze temperature non-uniformity.

One-point calibration of Saha-Boltzmann plot to improve accuracy and precision of quantitative analysis using laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy

Spectrochimica Acta Part B: Atomic Spectroscopy, 2019
Abstract Calibration-free laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (CF-LIBS) has recently gained attention due to its potential to overcome matrix effects on quantitative analysis using LIBS. However, the efficiency of CF-LIBS may be compromised by uncertainties in the experimental and spectroscopic parameters. To minimize these uncertainties and improve

Temporally Resolved Boltzmann Plots and Excitation Temperatures of Iron Atoms in a Helium Radiofrequency Atomization/Excitation Source for Atomic Emission Spectrometry

Microchemical Journal, 1999
A polychromator that allows simultaneous measurements of the emission intensities of multiple lines with different excitation energies was constructed. Thus, temporally resolved Boltzmann plots of iron atomic levels became measurable. The polychromator was applied to a helium radiofrequency atomization/excitation source that was developed for direct ...

Effects of non-uniformity of laser induced plasma on plasma temperature and concentrations determined by the Boltzmann plot method: implications from plasma modeling

Journal of Analytical Atomic Spectrometry, 2010
The validity of the popular Boltzmann plot method was theoretically tested for the case of a non-homogenious non-isothermal laser-induced plasma. A collisional-dominated plasma model was employed to generate synthetic spectra by solving the radiative transfer equation.

Stark Broadening, Boltzmann Plot Methods for Calculating Plasma Parameters by Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy for Gold Target

International Journal of Nanoscience
In this investigation, a spectroscopic optical emission test was used to investigate the characteristics of gold plasmas that were produced in the surrounding environment using an Nd: YAG system at a wavelength of 1064[Formula: see text]nm and had an energy output that varied from 400 to 600[Formula: see text]mJ. The emission spectrum profiles of (Au)

Estimation of the effects of operating pressure on the degree of non-equilibrium in DC-RF hybrid plasma jets using the Boltzmann plot method

The 30th International Conference on Plasma Science, 2003. ICOPS 2003. IEEE Conference Record - Abstracts., 2003
Summary form only given, as follows. DC-RF hybrid plasma torches have attracted a great attention to their possible applications to materials synthesis and thermal plasma spray coating by taking advantage of their combined thermal plasma characteristics available from the respective DC and RF torches operating at either atmospheric or reduced pressure ...

[Error analysis of temperature measurement by Boltzmann plot in atomic emission spectroscopy for a high-density plasma produced by electrothermal capillary discharge].

Guang pu xue yu guang pu fen xi = Guang pu, 2004
The present paper analysed in detail the reasons for the errors found in the literature when Boltzmann plot was used for the temperature measurement of a high-density plasma produced by electrothermal capillary discharge. The reliability of experiment can reach as high as 98%-99.5% and the error is only +/- 6.5% when the spectroscopic parameters, such ...
