It was shown that polyhedras of Bombyx mori Nuclear Polyhedrosis Virus contain RNA with molecular weight of 17-18 kDa (50-60 nucleotides). This RNA is likely to belong to the minor RNA class and its origin is discussed.

It is known that B.mori NPV polyhedra contains protease which cleaves polyhedrin polypeptide chain (m.w. 28500) during dissolution of polyhedra in vitro under alkaline conditions (pH10.5) to overlapping fragments with mol. weights 25000, 22000, 19000, 10000 and 8000.

The molecular weight of the polyhedral protein was obtained by two techniques: sedimentation equilibrium (M=333000 Da) and sedimentation-diffusion (M = 344000 Da). Itshyd-rodynamic characteristics (sedimentation constant s?????????, w = 11.9 S and diffusion constant D?????????, w = 3.2??10?????? cm??/g) were determined as well.
