ABSTRACT The coevolutionary radiation of 27 species of Tetraopes longhorned beetles and their Asclepias milkweed hosts represents a classic example of adaptive evolution driven by plant chemical defences and herbivore counteradaptations. Investigations to date, however, have focused on a single species, Tetraopes tetrophthalmus, which feeds on the ...

Target capture efficiently resolves the long‐standing taxonomic dead end of Diachrysia moths
We demonstrate the high efficiency of the target capture method in elucidating the taxonomy of the cryptic species of Diachrysia chrysitis and D. stenochrysis. Phylogenomic and population structure analyses reveal clear nuclear divergence and asymmetric allele sharing, consistent with historical gene flow rather than recent hybridization.

Роль сомы в формировании способности к термическому партеногенезу у тутового шелкопряда Bombyx mori L. [PDF]
The eggs that have undergone the impact of anticipating heat shock (water at 46°C during 1 min) and consequent ovary transplantation in course of larval development were studied.

Ampullae infection of the malpighian tubules of Bombyx mori by Alphabaculovirus
Alphabaculovirus is a genus of the entomopathogenic virus, whose species Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedrovirus (BmNPV) infects the silkworm, Bombyx mori, which is an important insect in the sericulture industry. A geographic isolate of BmNPV was identified in

Feeding behavior, the most fundamental physiological activity, is controlled by two opposing groups of factors, orexigenic and anorexigenic factors. The sulfakinin family, an insect analogue of the mammalian satiety factor cholecystokinin (CCK), has been

Transgenic breeding of anti-Bombyx mori L. nuclear polyhedrosis virus silkworm Bombyx mori.
Silkworm strains resistant to Bombyx mori L. nuclear polyhedrosis virus were obtained through transgenic experiments. piggyBac transposon with an A3 promoter were randomly inserted into the silkworm, driving the enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP) reporter gene into the silkworm genome.

A chromosome-level genome assembly of wild silkmoth, Bombyx mandarina
The wild silk moth, Bombyx mandarina, is the closest relative of the domesticated silk moth, Bombyx mori. National BioResource Project of Japan (NBRP) maintains a B.

Summary: Alphabaculoviruses induce abnormal behavior in lepidopteran larval hosts. A baculoviral gene, bv/odv-e26, is crucial for behavioral manipulation in Bombyx mori larvae by Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedrovirus (BmNPV).
