Mapping Connectivity Patterns: Degree-Based Topological Indices of Corona Product Graphs

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2023
Graph theory (GT) is a mathematical field that involves the study of graphs or diagrams that contain points and lines to represent the representation of mathematical truth in a diagrammatic format. From simple graphs, complex network architectures can be

Partial depletion of plasminogen activator inhibitor‐1 decreases subcutaneous fat cell hypertrophy and liver cholesterol in high‐fat‐fed female mice

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Obesity raises blood levels of PAI‐1, a protein linked to metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease in people with obesity. In female mice fed a high‐fat diet, partially lowering PAI‐1 led to smaller subcutaneous fat cells and lower liver cholesterol, without changing body weight or insulin sensitivity.

Bond Graph Based Stability Analysis of a Railway Traction System [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
This paper emphasises the interest of the Bond Graph approach for analysis and system design of heterogeneous and multi-field devices. In particular, the local stability analysis of non linear systems can be directly derived from the linearised Causal ...

From graph theory to chemoinformatics: modified bond-based indices and a hypothesis-driven multi-task QSAR/QSPR benchmark

open access: yesScientific Reports
Graph–theoretic degree–based descriptors play a central role in chemoinformatics and QSPR/QSAR modelling, yet most classical indices either focus purely on vertex degrees or treat bond contributions in a purely multiplicative way.

On the Resistance-Harary Index of Graphs Given Cut Edges

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, 2017
Graphs are often used to describe the structure of compounds and drugs. Each vertex in the graph represents the molecule and each edge represents the bond between the atoms.

Molecular Descriptors on Line Graphs of Cactus Chains and Rooted Products Graphs

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, 2022
The application of graph theory in the study of molecular physical and chemical properties involves theoretical mathematical chemistry. Atoms, represented by vertices, and edges, represented by bonds between them, are detailed in simple graphs called ...

Emerging experimental and computational methods for studying redox‐regulated structural transitions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Redox reactions can reshape proteins and alter how they behave in cells, with important consequences for health and disease. This review explores emerging experimental and computational approaches for discovering these redox‐sensitive protein switches, revealing their structural effects, and predicting their behavior, opening new opportunities to ...

A Novel Methodology for Automated Synthesis of Mechatronic Systems Designs Using Bond-Graphs and Genetic Programming

open access: yesNUST Journal of Engineering Sciences, 2008
Automated synthesis refers to design of physical systems using any of the models proposed for machine intelligence like evolutionary computation, neural networks and fuzzy logic.

Translophagy—A potential link between autophagy impairment and translational errors

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neurodegenerative diseases are characterised by the accumulation of abnormal proteins and protein aggregates, but their origin often remains unknown. We propose that selective autophagy removes damaged protein‐making machinery, preventing errors during protein synthesis.

Functional comparison of EncB and EncC cargo proteins in iron storage within the Myxococcus xanthus encapsulin

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Encapsulins are protein nanocompartments that play an important role in iron storage. In the Myxococcus xanthus encapsulin system, two cargo proteins called EncB and EncC contribute to iron mineralization. Here, we show that EncB and EncC generate iron‐containing minerals with distinct chemical compositions, suggesting that the composition of stored ...
