From Material Tensions to Organizational Paradoxes: How Manufacturers Cope With the Limits of Circular Product Design

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Circular product design (CPD) is central to advancing the circular economy by enabling the narrowing, slowing, and closing of resource flows. Yet, its implementation remains persistently challenging for firms. Prior research has largely framed these challenges as discrete barriers, overlooking the structural contradictions embedded in CPD ...

Development of durable fiber reinforced polymer grouted splice connection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Presently, the ease of field assembly offered by precast concrete systems is weighted against the larger numbers of connections that are required in precast concrete systems, which pose a problem.

Bond of deformed reinforcing steel bars embedded in steel fiber reinforced self-compacting concrete

open access: yes, 2012
Steel fiber reinforced self-compacting concrete (SFRSCC) is a relatively new composite material which congregates the benefits of the SCC technology with the profits derived from the fiber addition to a brittle cementitious matrix.

Ensemble‐based soil liquefaction assessment: Leveraging CPT data for enhanced predictions

open access: yesCivil Engineering Design, Volume 7, Issue 1, Page 23-35, March 2025.
Abstract This study focuses on predicting soil liquefaction, a critical phenomenon that can significantly impact the stability and safety of structures during seismic events. Accurate liquefaction assessment is vital for geotechnical engineering, as it informs the design and mitigation strategies needed to safeguard infrastructure and reduce the risk ...

A Simplified Analysis for the Steel-Concrete Decks by the Bond Model

open access: yesJournal of Korean Society of Hazard Mitigation, 2011
In this study, a bond model, which is used to evaluate the behavior of the steel-concrete decks, is proposed. The load-end slip relation in the proposed model is formulated by Newmark theory. The steel-concrete decks are analyzed by finite element analysis with the aid of the proposed bond model.

Hyperledger Fabric for the (digitalized) lifecycle of construction products: Applied review on fastening technology

open access: yesCivil Engineering Design, Volume 7, Issue 1, Page 9-22, March 2025.
Abstract Blockchain technology is a digital decentralized data ledger recording transactions in an encrypted format. Its implementation can potentially hold significant advantages for the built environment, particularly in manufacturing and building product usage aligned with Building Information Modeling (BIM). This paradigm shift toward decentralized
