Interplay of integrins and selectins in metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here we review the role of integrins and their interplay with selectins in metastasis. The efficacy of integrin‐targeted therapies may be reduced in tumors where metastasis relies heavily on selectins. In certain tumors, integrins and selectins exhibit a synergistic interaction during intraperitoneal dissemination.

Tonic signaling of the B‐cell antigen‐specific receptor is a common functional hallmark in chronic lymphocytic leukemia cell phosphoproteomes at early disease stages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
B‐cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B‐CLL) and monoclonal B‐cell lymphocytosis (MBL) show altered proteomes and phosphoproteomes, analyzed using mass spectrometry, protein microarrays, and western blotting. Identifying 2970 proteins and 316 phosphoproteins, including 55 novel phosphopeptides, we reveal BCR and NF‐kβ/STAT3 signaling in disease ...

Effect of thermocycling on the micro-tensile bond strength between self-adhesive resin cement and nonphosphate monomer cements on zirconium-oxide ceramics

open access: yesIndian Journal of Dental Research, 2019
Objectives: The objective of the present study is to evaluate the bond strength of: (a) Zirconia blocks (tribochemical treatment and zirconia primer) and resin blocks bonded using self-adhesive resin cement (phosphate monomer cement). (b) Zirconia blocks

Transport in simple networks described by integrable discrete nonlinear SchrÄodinger equation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We elucidate the case in which the Ablowitz-Ladik (AL) type discrete nonlinear Schr\"Aodinger equa- tion (NLSE) on simple networks (e.g., star graphs and tree graphs) becomes completely integrable just as in the case of a simple 1-dimensional (1-d) discrete chain.

Bioengineering facets of the tumor microenvironment in 3D tumor models: insights into cellular, biophysical and biochemical interactions

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The tumor microenvironment is a dynamic, multifaceted complex system of interdependent cellular, biochemical, and biophysical components. Three‐dimensional in vitro models of the tumor microenvironment enable a better understanding of these interactions and their impact on cancer progression and therapeutic resistance.

Development of adhesion between two concretes during concrete hardening

open access: yesBudownictwo i Architektura, 2009
The main factor influencing the bearing capacity in composite members is bond strength between concretes, because only effective joint between substrate and overlay ensure their full structural cooperation.
