Bond Strengths:  The Importance of Hyperconjugation
Organic Letters, 2006[Structure: see text] Gronert (J. Org. Chem. 2006, 71, 1209) has challenged the importance of hyperconjugation in determining C-H bond dissociation enthalpies (BDEs) in alkanes. Electron paramaganetic resonance spectra of H3CCH2*, (H3C)2CH*, and (H3C)3C* show significant positive spin on their beta-H3C groups' hydrogens. A 55%/45% partitioning of these

Bond strength and durability of porcelain bonding systems
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1996Because the most effective bonding system for ceramic restorations has not been documented, this study examined bond strength and durability of bonding systems joined to a feldspathic porcelain. Disks of porcelain specimens were fired on refractory investment materials and were air-abraded with alumina.

Bond strengths of dentine bonding agents to dentine
British Dental Journal, 1992This study assessed comparatively the tensile bond strengths to dentine of four resin dentine bonding agents. Flat surfaces were produced in the occlusal dentine of human third molars, finished with 600-grit paper and prepared for bonding to Silux Plus composite with Gluma, Prisma Universal Bond 2, Scotchbond 2 and Tenure.

Orthodontic bonding to porcelain—Bond strength and refinishing
American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, 1988Glazed porcelain surfaces are not amenable to resin penetration for orthodontic bonding. The aims of this study were to evaluate (1) the bond strengths of two orthodontic composite materials to treated porcelain surfaces, (2) the effect of thermocycling, and (3) the porcelain surfaces after refinishing.

Bond strengths of resin-bonded metal castings
Dental Materials, 1985Abstract Composite resin-retained appliances are susceptible to failure at the resin-metal interface. The objective of this study was to evaluate bond strengths of perforated and electrolytically etched framework designs by subjecting them to tensile and shear loading. Shear bond strengths were always higher than tensile bond strengths.
