Mechanisms and therapeutic opportunities of the ribotoxic stress response in cancer
Cancer cells' high translational demand creates opportunities to therapeutically target ribosome function. Ribosome stalling and collisions activate ZAKα and the ribotoxic stress response (RSR), which can trigger rapid, p53‐independent apoptosis in cancer.

Analysis of the effects of water retainer and soil moisture on soil and plant parameters
Water Retainer is an organic soil conditioner used to treat the root zone of plants with the sole purpose of retaining usable soil moisture. Water retainer substantially increases the soil's potential to sequester water, enhancing soil health and, by ...

The VHL tumor suppressor at the crossroad of protein folding, aggregation, and cancer
Mutations, environmental stress, and chaperone dysfunction can destabilize pVHL, promoting its conversion from the native folded state into amyloid‐like assemblies. This transition may contribute to protein storage, cell dormancy, survival, and drug resistance.

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

The crystal structure of Borrelia burgdorferi nicotinamidase (PncA/BBE22) reveals the correct full‐length protein initiated from a non‐canonical AUU start codon. The structure validates previous biochemical findings and resolves a long‐standing annotation error, demonstrating that the truncated database sequence is structurally incompatible with the ...

QuickTRAY: A Revolutionary Glue Gun Fixed Lingual Retainer Bonding Tray
Orthodontic relapse remains a persistent challenge despite proper treatment and retention protocols. Fixed retainers, typically stainless steel or tri-flex nickel–titanium wires bonded to the lingual surfaces of the anterior teeth, are commonly used to ...

Transcripts enriched in codons that trigger P‐site tRNA‐mediated mRNA decay possess stable mRNA
PTMD codons were first described by Mendel et al. as mediators of an mRNA decay pathway dependent on the human protein CNOT3, homologous to yeast Not5. Our findings confirm that PTMD codons destabilize transcripts; however, unlike in yeast, the human pathway specifically targets and slightly destabilizes primarily stable mRNAs.
