Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Precision mounting for instrument optical elements provided by polyimide bonding [PDF]

open access: yes, 1969
Epoxy resin-coated polyimide plastic is used for bonding materials with different thermal coefficients in applications requiring precision mounting, especially where vibrations, temperature extremes, and low pressures are encountered.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Relativistic-dft study of the electronic structure, bonding and energetic of the [ref8]־ and [uf8]2- ions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Indexación: ScieloABSTRACT In this study we evaluated the importance of the relativistic effects (scalar and spin-orbit) on the description of the electronic structure, bonding and the energetic of the [ReF8]- and [UF8]2- ions.

Quantum coherence of the molecular states and their corresponding currents in nanoscale Aharonov-Bohm interferometers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
By considering a nanoscale Aharonov-Bohm (AB) interferometer containing a parrallel-coupled double dot coupled to the source and drain electrodes, we investigate the AB phase oscillations of transport current via the bonding and antibonding state ...

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Enamel surface roughness evaluation after bracket debonding: Comparison between light cure and self cure adhesive resin 3-Dimensional profilometric study

open access: yesIndian Journal of Dental Research, 2022
Introduction: After fixed orthodontic treatment, following bracket removal, the debonding procedure should lead to restitutio ad integrum of the enamel or, at least, restore the enamel surface as closely as possible to its pretreatment condition ...

New method forms bond line free of voids [PDF]

open access: yes, 1964
A new bonding method using vacuum, pressure and heat, which produces a bond line free of voids, is described. This method is very successful in bonding ablation shields to a magnesium structural component in simulated reentry tests involving great heat ...
