Investigation of the bonding properties of bitumen using a novel modified binder bond strength test
The binder bond strength (BBS) test can directly quantify the bonding of bitumen-stone joints. However, the index "bond strength" used in this method cannot provide a clear distinction when evaluating the performance of various bitumen, and some results ...

We develop a data‐driven method to derive the mathematical expressions of the Flory–Huggins interaction parameter χ for the swelling behavior of temperature–responsive hydrogels. Starting from initial assumptions of χ, our workflow combines Bayesian optimization, Flory–Rehner theory, and symbolic regression to generate candidate χ expressions.

Data-driven predicting of bond strength in corroded BFRP concrete structures
The mechanical properties of basalt fiber-reinforced polymer (BFRP) concrete structures in corrosive environments are largely dependent on the bonding performance between the BFRP reinforcement and concrete.

Atmospheric pressure plasma pre-treatment of ALD-Al2O3 for low-temperature direct bonding
S.85-86This paper presents results of investigations of the bonding behaviour of ALD-Al2O3 coated silicon wafers. Before bonding, the coated wafers were activated with atmospheric-pressure plasma to increase the bonding strength.

A two‐dimensional multiscale finite element analysis framework was established for the first‐generation MoSiBTiC alloy, and the mechanical and fracture‐related parameters of the constituent phases were calibrated through experiments and simulations. The framework provides a basis for analyzing crack propagation behavior in its complex microstructure ...

Do not let thermal drift and instrument artifacts deceive high‐temperature nanoindentation results. We compare classical Oliver–Pharr and automatic image recognition analyses across steels and a Ni alloy to quantify these effects. Accounting for artifacts reveals systematic softening with temperature, while Cr and Ni additions boost resistance ...
