Bond length and bond multiplicity: σ-bond prevents short π-bonds
Chem. Commun., 2006Analysis of model compounds such as Fe2(CO)6, C2 and HBBH shows that pi-bonds left to themselves are shorter than sigma-bonds; in many ways sigma-bonds prevent pi-bonds from adopting their optimal shorter distances.

Savings bonds, retractable bonds and callable bonds
Journal of Financial Economics, 1977Abstract Savings bonds, retractable bonds and callable bonds are each equivalent to a straight bond with an option. Neglecting default risk the value of these contingent claims depends upon the riskless interest rate. This paper employs the option pricing framework to value these bonds, under the assumptions that the interest rate follows a Gauss ...

Structural Chemistry, 2019
Even after roughly a century of quantum theory, there is still debate, sometimes rather contentious, as to the nature of the chemical bond—or is it bonds, or is it bonding? In this brief overview, we summarize some of the prominent approaches to this and related issues.

Bond Paths Are Not Chemical Bonds
The Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2009This account takes to task papers that criticize the definition of a bond path as a criterion for the bonding between the atoms it links by mistakenly identifying it with a chemical bond. It is argued that the notion of a chemical bond is too restrictive to account for the physics underlying the broad spectrum of interactions between atoms and ...

This paper studies the spread between the newly issued 30 year Treasury bond and the old 30 year bond. The spread follows a systematic pattern over the auction cycle: it begins high at an auction date, and converges toward zero by the next auction date. I document the profits on establishing a long old bond/ short new bond convergence trade and rolling

Bond-order/bond-length and bond-energy/bond-length relations for carbon-oxygen bonds
Journal of Molecular Spectroscopy, 1961Abstract A bond-order/bond-length relation for carbon—oxygen bonds based on molecular orbital theory is proposed and compared with a bond-energy/bond-length relation based on thermochemical calculations. A reinterpretation of the electronic structure of furan based on the bond-order/bond-length/bond-energy relations is suggested and discussed.

One-electron bonds are not “half-bonds”
Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics, 2019The formation of one-electron bonds follows the same mechanism as the regular covalent bonds. It is the same phenomenon, quantum interference, that rules the stabilization of systems containing such bonds and there is no distinction between one- and two-electron bonds from the conceptual point of view.

Green Bonds, Landscape Bonds, and Rainforest Bonds
2017Green bonds, particularly green bonds applied to the forestry sector, are a newly emerging conservation finance instrument. The author presents an historical overview, provides details on the mechanisms, presents 1 case study, and then undertakes both a financial analysis and a policy analysis, along with a future outlook.
