Denosumab in patients with aneurysmal bone cysts: A case series with preliminary results

open access: yesTumori, 2018
Purpose: Aneurysmal bone cyst (ABC) is a rare skeletal tumor usually treated with surgery/embolization. We hypothesized that owing to similarities with giant cell tumor of bone (GCTB), denosumab was active also in ABC.

Bone: Aneurysmal bone cysts [PDF]

open access: yesAtlas of Genetics and Cytogenetics in Oncology and Haematology, 2011
Aneurysmal bone cysts (ABC) are benign lesions that occur more frequently in the metaphyses of long bones, especially distal femur, the proximal tibia and vertebral posterior bodies. It can occur at any age but most patients are diagnosed in the first 2 decades of life.

Dramatic response of aneurysmal bone cyst to denosumab: Case report and literature review

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, 2021
Denosumab, a monoclonal antibody that specifically targets cytokine receptor activator of nuclear factor‐kappa B ligand (RANKL), is a potentially viable option in resistant aneurysmal bone cysts.

Surface Aneurysmal Bone Cyst

open access: yesJournal of the Belgian Society of Radiology, 2015
We present a case of a surface aneurysmal bone cyst in a 19-year-old boy. Plain radiograph showed an osteolytic lesion with sclerotic margin and interrupted lamellar periosteal reaction at the posterolateral aspect of the diaphysis of the left proximal femur. MRI confirmed a bony lesion containing a fluid-fluid level (FFL) on T2-WI.

Greater wing of sphenoid, the home for aneurysmal bone cysts: a case report

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Neurosurgery, 2021
Background Finding an aneurysmal bone cyst in the skull is rare and for a neurosurgeon to come across such lesions in the sphenoid bone with orbital extension is even rarer.

Diagnosing and discriminating between primary and secondary aneurysmal bone cysts

open access: yesOncology Letters, 2017

Recurrent Aneurysmal Bone Cyst of the Distal Fibula Treated with Denosumab and Curettage

open access: yesCase Reports in Oncological Medicine, 2018
We report the case of a 13-year-old girl with multiple recurrences of an aneurysmal bone cyst of the distal fibula successfully treated with denosumab and curettage. Aneurysmal bone cysts are locally aggressive lesions with high rates of recurrence.

Hypoglycemia Induces Diabetic Macrovascular Endothelial Dysfunction via Endothelial Cell PANoptosis, Macrophage Polarization, and VSMC Fibrosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study investigates hypoglycemia‐induced diabetic macrovascular endothelial dysfunction. It reveals that hypoglycemia triggers ZBP1‐dependent PANoptosis of endothelial cells, proinflammatory polarization of macrophages, and fibrosis of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) in diabetic mice.
