ABSTRACT Myositis ossificans (MO) is a benign soft tissue lesion, characterized by ectopic ossification due to inappropriate fibroblast differentiation, most commonly affecting skeletal muscles. It often occurs in young adults after muscle trauma, predominantly in male patients and very rarely in children. We describe the case of a previously healthy 3‐

Aneurysmal bone cyst of the frontal bone
Background. Aneurysmal bone cyst (ABC) is a benign, expansive, osteolytic lesion that mainly occurs in young people, and involves the skull bones only exceptionally. The origin of ABC is controversial: secondary reactive bone lesion, or primary disease that represents an independent nosological entity.

Ultrasound fundamentals and their clinical implications for interventional cytopathologists
Interventional cytopathologists need to know about ultrasound physics and instrumentation to produce an image that faithfully recreates the lesion discovered by the sonographer and diagnosed by the radiologist. A deep quantitative understanding of physics is not required.

During a heart attack, neutrophils rapidly activate and differentiate into a specific subset characterized by high levels of MMP9, a tissue‐damaging enzyme, via the SPI1/CST7 pathway. These neutrophils form harmful net‐like structures (Neutrophil extracellular traps, NETs) that exacerbate heart injury.

Bilateral aneurysmal bone cyst of the mandible: A case report
An aneurysmal bone cyst (ABC), usually considered a reactive lesion of bone rather than a cyst or true neoplasm, is believed to represent an exaggerated, localized, proliferative response of vascular tissue in bone.

This paper describes an extremely rare case of a huge aneurysmal bone cyst (ABC) in the pelvis, occurring in the patient's 5(th) decade of life. The patient presented with a history of painless huge pelvic mass for 10 years. Plain radiograph and computed tomography showed huge expansile lytic lesion arising from the right iliac bone.

Bone: Aneurysmal bone cysts [PDF]
The most widely accepted pathogenetic mechanism of aneurysmal bone cysts has long involved a local circulatory disturbance leading to markedly increased venous pressure and the development of a dilated and enlarged vascular bed within the affected bone area.
