SIMPLE BONE CYSTS TREATED BY PERCUTANEOUS AUTOLOGOUS MARROW GRAFTING

open access: yes, 1996
We prospectively evaluated the percutaneous injection of autogenous bone marrow for the treatment of active simple bone cysts in ten consecutive children with cysts in the proximal humerus, proximal femur or tibia.

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Aneurysmal bone cyst of maxilla existing concurrently with a giant cell granuloma of mandible: A case report of an unusual presentation

open access: yesJournal of Indian Society of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry, 2012
Aneurysmal bone cysts (ABCs) are relatively rare but well-described expansile, osteolytic psuedocysts are most commonly seen in the long bones, pelvis, and vertebra.

Hydatid cyst of bone

open access: yesIndian Journal of Medical Microbiology, 2015
Hydatid disease is an extremely uncommon differential diagnosis in the cystic/lytic lesions of bone. We present a rare case of echinococcal infection of femur which presented as pathological fracture in a middle-aged female and diagnosis was confirmed by histopathology.

Cannulation of simple bone cysts

open access: yes, 2002
We describe a consecutive series of 26 patients with simple bone cysts who were treated by curettage, multiple drilling and continuous decompression by the insertion of either a cannulated screw or a pin.

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Aneurysmal Patellar Bone Cyst: Case Reportt [PDF]

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Ortopedia, 2019
Patellar tumors are rare. Commonly benign, giant-cell tumors and chondroblastomas are the most frequent types of this tumor. Aneurysmal bone cysts are a less common type, corresponding to less than 1% of the cases. The authors present a case of a 23-year-

From energy provision to protein synthesis: Tunnelling nanotubes as mediators of intercellular metabolic cooperation in cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The cytoskeleton‐mediated transport of mitochondria via tunnelling nanotubes restores respiration, increases ATP production, rescues cells from apoptosis, activates the AKT/mTOR signalling pathway, promotes cell migration and invasiveness, contributes to cancer progression and treatment resistance.
