Deterministic Adjustable Bone Plate Design [PDF]
Fracture of the mandible is a common injury associated with facial trauma. Close to 50% of patients admitted to the hospital require surgery to restore normal anatomy and function, often with a period of jaw immobilization to allow formation of a bony union between the fracture halves [1].

Biological evaluations of novel 2,3,3-Trisphosphonate in osteoclastic and osteoblastic activities [PDF]
Bisphosphonates (BPs) are the first line treatment for many bone diseases including hypercalcimia associated with bone malignancies. In this paper, we introduce a new analogue of bisphosphonate called the 2,3,3-Trisphosphonate (2,3,3-TriPP) that was ...

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Influence of third-body particles originating from bone void fillers on the wear of ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene [PDF]
Calcium sulfate bone void fillers are increasingly being used for dead space management in infected arthroplasty revision surgery. The presence of these materials as loose beads close to the bearing surfaces of joint replacements gives the potential for ...

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

I trust that this modified plate will prove of undoubted value in certain cases. It is simply a modification of the well-known Lane bone-plate and has all the good features of the Lane plate with a well-merited improvement. In the experience of most surgeons who have made use of the Lane plate, there has been more or less difficulty in getting an ...
