Superiority of 18F-FNa PET/CT for Detecting Bone Metastases in Comparison with Other Diagnostic Imaging Modalities

open access: yesActa Médica Portuguesa, 2017
Introduction: The 18F-NaF positron emission tomography/computed tomography is being considered as an excellent imaging modality for bone metastases detection. This ability was compared with other imaging techniques.

Ultrasonographic diagnosis of caudoproximal humeral stress fracture in thoroughbred racehorses

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, Volume 58, Issue 3, Page 788-796, May 2026.
Abstract Background Humeral stress fractures in racehorses can progress to catastrophic fracture if unrecognised. Scintigraphy is the gold standard diagnostic technique but is limited by accessibility and cost. It was hypothesised that ultrasonography could be used to visualise caudoproximal humeral stress fractures. Objectives To determine the utility

The role of whole-body bone scintigraphy in a case of osteopetrosis

open access: yesThe Egyptian Journal of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, 2014
Male patient, 35 years old, with occasional mild intensity back pain. Lumbosacral spine radiography showed bone structure with increased density, diffusely and symmetrically, conferring to the vertebral bodies “bone-within-bone” aspect, suggesting ...

Imaging modalities in synchronous oligometastatic prostate cancer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Purpose Along with a number of other malignancies, the term "oligometastatic" prostate cancer has recently emerged. It represents an attempt to define a subtype of cancer with a limited metastatic load that might perform more favorably than a distinctly ...

Computed tomography identifies the proximodorsomedial subchondral bone of equine central tarsal bones as a predilection site for sclerosis, demineralisation and associated fractures

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, Volume 58, Issue 3, Page 797-804, May 2026.
Abstract Background The distribution pattern of central tarsal bone (CTB) changes has not been described, except for slab‐ and dorsomedial–plantarolateral fractures. Objectives To describe CTB changes in CT and document their distribution and associations. Study Design Retrospective case series.

Cerebellar Cystic Metastasis—An Unusual Presentation of Prostate Adenocarcinoma Dissemination: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Although prostate cancer is among the most common malignant tumors in men, brain metastases from prostatic cancer are infrequent. Brain dissemination is especially rare with the most frequent histological type of prostatic adenocarcinoma. We present a case of a cystic‐hemorrhagic cerebellar metastasis with a solid enhancing component in a ...

A case of chronic recurrent multifocal osteomyelitis associated with Crohn's disease [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Chronic recurrent multifocal osteomyelitis (CRMO) is an auto-inflammatory bone disease of unknown etiology, most commonly affecting the metaphysis of long bones, especially the tibia, femur and clavicle. The clinical spectrum varies from self-limited uni-

Diffuse and Prolonged Bone Pain Revealing Tumor‐Induced Osteomalacia: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Tumor‐induced osteomalacia should be considered in patients with unexplained bone pain and fractures. Advanced imaging, such as Ga68‐DOTATATE PET/CT, enables precise tumor localization, and surgical excision can rapidly normalize phosphate metabolism and resolve symptoms, underscoring the importance of early diagnosis and intervention.

Post‐Therapeutic Dosimetry of Metastatic Castration‐Resistant Prostate Cancer With 177Lu‐PSMA: Experiences From Two University‐Based Hospitals in Thailand

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Clinical Oncology, Volume 22, Issue 2, Page 199-206, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective 177Lu‐PSMA radioligand therapy (RLT) is increasingly used to treat metastatic castration‐resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). Posttreatment dosimetry is essential for assessing normal organ absorbed doses. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate normal organs dosimetry in mCRPC patients undergoing 177Lu‐PSMA‐RLT from two university ...

Enhancing diabetic foot osteomyelitis diagnosis with metagenomics next‐generation sequencing, proof of concept

open access: yesDiabetic Medicine, Volume 43, Issue 4, April 2026.
The use of mNGS with the MinION tool clearly provides a significant advantage compared to routine culture by identifying a higher diversity of pathogens in diabetic foot osteomyelitis. It also highlights the value of this method in clinical decision making, despite the technical challenges inherent in metagenomic sequencing.
