Counting links in complete graphs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We find the minimal number of non-trivial links in an embedding of any complete kk-partite graph on 7 vertices (including K7, which has at least 21 non-trivial links).

Schooling Trajectories and the Development of Brain Dynamics: A Comparative Study of Montessori and Traditional Education

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We investigate whether Montessori and traditional schooling systems shape the developmental trajectory of large‐scale brain dynamics in different ways. We quantify the arrow of time (“non‐reversibility”) in neural activity during resting state and movie‐watching, revealing distinct maturational patterns.

On the Book Thickness of 1-Planar Graphs

open access: yes, 2015
In a book embedding of a graph G, the vertices of G are placed in order along a straight-line called spine of the book, and the edges of G are drawn on a set of half-planes, called the pages of the book, such that two edges drawn on a page do not cross each other. The minimum number of pages in which a graph can be embedded is called the book-thickness

Crossing Minimization for 1-page and 2-page Drawings of Graphs with Bounded Treewidth

open access: yes, 2014
We investigate crossing minimization for 1-page and 2-page book drawings. We show that computing the 1-page crossing number is fixed-parameter tractable with respect to the number of crossings, that testing 2-page planarity is fixed-parameter tractable ...

Geometric biplane graphs I: maximal graphs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We study biplane graphs drawn on a finite planar point set in general position. This is the family of geometric graphs whose vertex set is and can be decomposed into two plane graphs.

Liquid Metals in Radio Frequency Applications: A Review of Physics, Manufacturing, and Emerging Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
This paper reviews the physics of liquid metals in RF devices, including the influence of mechanical strain on resonance as well as fabrication methods and strategies for designing tunable and strain‐tolerant inductors, capacitors, and antennas.

Advanced Experiment Design Strategies for Drug Development

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Wang et al. analyze 592 drug development studies published between 2020 and 2024 that applied design of experiments methodologies. The review surveys both classical and emerging approaches—including Bayesian optimization and active learning—and identifies a critical gap between advanced experimental strategies and their practical adoption in ...

Defective and Clustered Choosability of Sparse Graphs

open access: yes, 2019
An (improper) graph colouring has "defect" $d$ if each monochromatic subgraph has maximum degree at most $d$, and has "clustering" $c$ if each monochromatic component has at most $c$ vertices.

Geometric biplane graphs II: graph augmentation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We study biplane graphs drawn on a finite point set in the plane in general position. This is the family of geometric graphs whose vertex set is and which can be decomposed into two plane graphs. We show that every sufficiently large point set admits a 5-
